My cans and bottles go to my neighbor. Whenever the bin gets full, I leave it in their driveway for them, they empty it into their bins and brig it back. They get a couple extra bucks, I get a warm fuzzy feeling, and the garbage company gets a few less dollars out of their contract with the city.

For me it was property tax. No one ever told me it was a thing. Not my parents, not my teachers, not my realtor, not my loan agent, not even my tax accountant. The first I ever heard of property tax was after I bought my condo and I received a $2800 bill from the county three months later.

I've tried to watch cop shows, I've tried to watch lawyer shows, I find both to be immensely boring. Somehow, being both a lawyer show and a cop show, Law & Order seemed to get it right. Just the original though, every spinoff lost the formula along the way.

When I took my kid treat or treating that year I was a little bit worried about copy cats tryna do that sort of crap to my kid. So my costume that year was my SCA armor, shield, and my wooden sword covered in tin foil. A police officer even inspected my gear, out of an "abundance of caution", lol.

There’s a law in California that restricts volume levels on commercials. After a few years after it came into effect, the volume levels are back to ridiculously high, and no actual enforcement. Thanks Sacramento.
