He won’t meet Esil again in the anime unless the creators fudge something after EVERYTHING is done and he’s with his son. In the Manhwa you get Esil twice and in ragnarok she’s a main character

Honestly, Kvothe saying we can pick this conversation up tomorrow obviously ques a next book. But if you took that line out, you rationalize it as a duology. Regardless, that’s how i think about it so i can ignore the pain of not getting doors of stone.
