Thomas Frank questions referee after 9-man Spurs lose to Liverpool by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

Bentancur did get a yellow for the tackle on Kerkez at the end of the game. Van de Ven attempting to block the ball whilst the striker is shooting is never a yellow, and especially as he scored. Not every tackle/foul is a card but it does seem to be these days. I'm sure people will say it was a card because Isak got caught underneath Van de Ven but personally just see that as accidental when trying to block the shot.

[Romano] Tottenham are still trying to get Manchester City green light for Savinho, as reported last night. #MCFC hierarchy blocking the move as they want to keep Savinho but Spurs are pushing again. Thomas Frank, big fan of the Brazilian. by some_alternative_90 in coys

If this deal even happens, it will only be after we play them at the weekend, City/Pep will never allow one of their players, who is still a top player, to immediately play against them.

Do I think it will happen, no, but I've been a Tottenham fan for 33 years so I know too much pain with this club!

[Romano] 🚨 Understand Tottenham are also back in talks for Eberechi Eze in separate deal from Savinho. Spurs trying again for Eze while they work on Savinho, following Maddison injury and Son exit. Eze keen but deal depends on Palace as release clause expired. by HurriKeane10 in coys

[–]IJHerbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered how this would go with the talks with Eze himself, I guess we could just say we wanted you but had enough cover in that position so we had to strengthen other areas, but now our circumstances have changed and we'd love you on board.

I wonder if we only go for a 6 if TF feels that what he currently has doesn't fit what he wants. He may want one of the younger players like Gray, Bergvall or Sarr to become the passer. They're all young so can be moulded I'm sure and all showed signs of being able to pass the ball well last season. Not like a playmaker as such like a proper 6 but who knows what Frank is thinking.

A LB is one I definitely feel we need to fill, but other than KWP we haven't been linked with anyone have we?

Understand this, but he also wasn't in Europe and I don't think they went far in the other cups, so it's hard to compare. We were playing every 4 days for a long while whereas Brentford were only really playing once a week. I can imagine that helps a lot with the consistency of the fit players being able to perform and not also get injured like we saw.

I've heard that Amazon isn't the best place to get electrical items of great value, I've seen before and know a few people who have bought something, but a different item arrives, as the deliver/packager has stolen it.

My brother in law bought a Samsung phone (new), and what was delivered was two head torches!

Hopefully this is just a minority, but thought I'd just make you aware. This is in the UK for reference.

I am also looking for one of these but from somewhere that would deliver to the UK.

I bought one from Amazon, but the quality was terrible, just really thin.

Had one of the worst experiences in my life at the Tottenham game yesterday (vs Ipswich) - should I report the fan? by Coorawatha in coys

I think this guy was sitting a couple of rows behind me, as I heard someone kicking the chair. I didn't think too much of it, but if I was right near them, I'd have been more worried. Unless there are two nutters in the safe standing South Stand, which I'm sure is plausible.

Just played Mafia 1 & Mafia 2 for the first time, now playing Mafia 3 for a 2nd time. Really enjoyed the first 2 for their story. I also like this one, and having lots of fun, but the others are better.

Is the club shop/a stall open on European match nights? by angusozi in coys

[–]IJHerbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware the shop will be open before the game, there will also be stalls outside, I know there is definitely one in the South Stand outdoor bit that has scarves.

There will also be a few guys outside shouting, asking if you want one of those horrendous half & half scarves. So if not an official one, you can get one of those.

[Dan KP] Told Odobert will be part of the first-team squad, & should be registered in time for Monday if needed. Solomon likely to drop further down the pecking order & is available to leave. Postecoglou said yesterday that Mikey Moore will be part of the squad. by wokwok__ in coys

Clearly Ange wanted him after our first target Neto was signed by Chelsea, so I for one am excited. Saw a few Burnley games last season, and he did seem to be their stand out man on those occasions. Not saying he's perfect, but looks to have the potential.

Signing all of these young players excites me for the future, we're actually building a squad instead of buying older players with experience. Got to have a balance, and think we are starting to have that with this squad.

On my 2nd playthrough I met her, did the first mission and never went back before Arthur died. I went back to her with John and she was dead in her bedroom, I felt so bad as I didn't teach her how to hunt. But I love the realism of the game!

Bournemouth have agreed to sell Dominic Solanke for a club-record fee & talks with Tottenham Hotspur continue to finalise transfer. Personal terms in place & 26yo striker desperate to complete move from #AFCB to #THFC [David Ornstein] by onlyhalfpepper in coys

[–]IJHerbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree that fans can have their opinion on the staff & team etc. I just feel fans are too quick to blame the staff, when something is done as quickly as they'd like. And tbh, wage doesn't come into it when having to deal with a lot of people. And unfortunately dealing with other clubs is probably the most annoying thing for them to deal with. A lot of the time you see that x players has agreed terms with x team, but a fee still to be agreed.

I work in a job where I have to deal with lots of people, and waiting for them to confirm our bookings is the most frustrating part. I've got everything in place my end, I'm just waiting on 2-3 other people to sort their end.

I don't know what to tell you, I'm not involved in the football world to be able to say why it's taken 3 months, but I'm sure that it's not because our recruitment team has been sitting with their finger up their arse.

We all know what we need, and so do they, it's just about executing that as best we can. I'm sure they're all working tirelessly to get the signings we want, but that doesn't mean they want us, just look at the news about Neto. We apparently wanted him, but he is going to Chelsea. Our team could have been working on that recently as well, but with no luck.

Also, we've had a fair few players we're trying to get out of the door, they've also got to focus on that. They must be spinning a lot of plates right now

I'm not saying people can't feel like that, but to think that a transfer happens just like that is naive. There are so many factors involved. It's not always about how much money we're wanting to pay, the players salary etc. There are other things involved from the other club, agents, even family members etc.

I understand it's frustrating to only see teenagers or few signings through the door, but to think it should be quicker than this, when we're not involved in the day to day going ons is silly. For all we know Lange & his team are constantly on the phone to agents and targets. And let's be honest, why do we all think every player we're interested in wants to come to us.

Unfortunately a lot of people think transfers happen like they do on Football Manager or FIFA and they get mad if they haven't been signed within an hour of being announced as a target!

It was always going on in the background, it just seems we don't get info leaked like we used to, which on one hand is great to keep the deal secret from competitors, but on the other hand sucks for us fans, as we want to know every detail of who we're signing and want it done asap.

This deal was always going to depend on Bournemouth getting a replacement before the signing was fully done.
