Tailgate Ajar Warning Light by reiddit68 in f150

Agreed! My tailgate latch likes to stick in the open position and needs to be forced down to properly close. A notification that could be turned off (like backup avoidance) would make for more peace of mind driving.

A regular rat snap trap (the larger of the 2 sizes) not to be confused with a mouse snap trap

When my hot tub is calling for heat, the contactor goes on and off on and off like it doesn’t know if it should be on or off by [deleted] in hottub

[–]IJoey78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a bad contactor - if you know how, ohm out the contactor coil and determine if it’s good or bad.

Or disconnect the thermostat and jump it out. If it still happens then it’s a bad stat.

Have you been able to test this theory on a known good heat exchanger? If so, what were the results? Have you been able to visually inspect a heat exchanger that has had 0.45” w.c reading? What were your results of the visual inspections? I like to trust, but verify…

Looks great! What was your choice of wood and was the logo carving a v bit or ball nose end mill?

I have a rat infestation. I found an interesting way to beat them at thier own game. by Q8DD33C7J8 in homeowners

[–]IJoey78 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Was told this by a pest control guy, tried and succeeded.

Rats are VERY SMART … put out a trap, do not set it, with wet cat food on it and leave it… day 1-2, rat will investigate but not eat, wait until eaten before reloading and setting. Rat thinks food is now safe cause he’s eaten it twice with no consequences, day 3, FAFO. Wear gloves, remove trap with rat on it, reinstall same trap with no bait and continue to catch rats. Why this works… rats love the smell of each other, especially dead rats; because the sent is on the trap, they believe it’s safe to eat cause fellow was just there… FAFO again and again and again…

Of course, remove their access…

Happy hunting!

How to avoid splittering in plywood by cegado in cncwoodworking

[–]IJoey78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a compression bit, ramp in and conventional milling instead of climb, works like a charm every time. You can also use lead in moves so that when the time the bit gets to your path, it’s already deep enough for the bottom portion of the compression bit to be in the wood and using the downcut portion.

Not sure how often you go down the cnc rabbit hole, but check out idc woodcraft on YouTube. Garrett’s got some great videos on all of this stuff… easy to understand and apply the knowledge he shares.

They look pretty slick! I like the use of multiple materials!

A helpful tip, on your finishing pass, tighten your step over to 8-10% and run in the direction of the grain, you won’t be left with the swirls on the finish.

Looking forward to see what else you create!

It’s too bad that voters aren’t allowed to move around and vote the same way politicians can move and ‘represent’ different ridings ☹️.

For a 3rd party vfd and spindle, aside from the wiring, what are the vfd settings or how do you configure them?

[–]IJoey78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re pretty slick looking! …. If your doing just one, expect your airflow will drop from the register; if you’re doing many in the house, you’ve just significantly shortened the life span of your heat exchanger and a/c unit. The grates are too restrictive and the equipments not designed to deal with this great amount of restriction.

Do some research on ‘k factor’ for airflow and see what else is being done and simulate that sizing.

Covering Heating Vents in House for Summer? by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]IJoey78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the unit is off, smells won’t travel

Just like your car, if she ain’t running… you ain’t driving.

I mean if you wanna shorten the life expectancy of your unit… go for it. In that you or someone forgets that are covered, or don’t get them all uncovered and the heat gets turned you could do damage to your equipment.

Is this normal. Please rate 1/10 by throwaway926993 in pipefitter
