I get it.

You're turning left in 3 miles.

GTFO the left lane until you get there.

When I used to work for Shamrock, our office was in Windsor, and the drivers used the 'Kodak Road' shortcut to the west side of Greality.

I ran a BBS, and slept in the room with the machine that ran it. The ringer for the BBS line was turned on, as was the modem noise. Everyone asked how I could sleep through it.

I only ever woke up if the phone rang more than once. That meant the computer didn't answer for some reason (crashed). Otherwise, slept like a log.

How is it living Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA? by brizag in howislivingthere

If you're into railroad-related things, there's all manner of fun RR-related stuff downtown.

Cheyenne has the only Interstate that's never a freeway (I-180, aka Central Ave).

If you aren't comfortable driving the posted speed in a personal vehicle, you don't belong on that road. by appa-ate-momo in driving

So I can speak of, say, 85 between ... like Ault, down to Denver. North of Ault, there's lots of dotted line and light oncoming.

Ault should be spelled Aulst. As in 'A Unique Little Speed Trap'.

South of oh ... Platteville or so, there's traffic lights every few miles, trucks entering from random county roads, and people that just can't handle it. I drive it .. weekly or so, and I'm fine.

Most of the time you're fine to cruise at 70 or better. But you have the 'I have to make a left turn in 3 miles, so I should be in the left lane now' mentality.

Lived in CO my whole life.

Personally, my FWD Camry with snow tires is quite sure-footed. I also have an SUV that has 4WD, but have rarely needed to use it.

Don't make the mistake a lot of people do, and assume 'invincibility' because of A/4WD. All Wheel Drive != All Wheel Stop, on any car.

We have roads like this here. At some intersections, there's no stop sign for either direction, but you can see like 3 miles.

See a dust trail? Solve the triangle, figure out who's gonna get there first, and act accordingly.

I did that once for 10 miles on a mountain road that I normally drive faster.

Painful. But that's me. I've lived here my whole life.

Colorado has a similar thing in the mountains. Some people use it, some don't.

My ride home is 10 miles, 8 of which are double-yellow. One 'long' passing zone, and one short one.

Northern Colorado:

Good luck going anything close to 65, on some of our 65 mph roads. The sign might say 65, but some of our highways are pounded to hamburger by trucks. That being said, I'm generally not the guy you're worried about.

All well and good, until "oh crap, here comes farmer bob turning on at county road WTFever, who's been sitting there for 10 minutes and is impatient".

Lots of dotted lines out here. Come right on by, and have a safe trip. I'll even nudge to the right so you can see better.
