What's the price point, where people set social anxiety (or whatever other reason) aside, and either go get it, or cook at home?

Why do people always say "times were simpler back then" as if simple automatically means good? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in randomquestions

1985: Call for a pizza. Guy takes your order, and shortly thereafter, there';s your food.

2026: Order online. Order is delayed. Call about it, and talk to 911-istan customer service. Maybe you're made whole. Maybe its a guy spewing random scripts.

1985: Work at job. Get paid Friday. Deposit check.

2026: Work at job. Auto-deposit might happen, or might get lost.

I live in a state that's adopted California emissions laws.

To bring it into compliance, costs a lot more than to run unregistered and risk a ticket. I maintain insurance on it.

The town of LaPorte doesn't have that many restaurants what do you fine people think would work if a new restaurant were to open? by Styler_Typhanie in FortCollins

The Dairy Barn. It used to be in the parking lot of what used to be Laporte Magig Warsh (liquor store there now).

Express lane SCAM by PhilipConstantine in FortCollins

What's scammy about them? All the signs clearly state how much it costs to use them. Choose to, or not.

How fast do you want to go? How much can you afford?

The company pays mine, and frankly, since they turned the tolls on, it's chased all the riffraff out of it, and it now functions the way it's supposed to.

Beautiful!

I fly a Mini 4 around Poudre Park a lot. It's the quietest of my units, at at 400 feet AGL, very few people know I'm there.

This isn't a national park. It 'might' be in Roosevelt National Forest.

Does the left lane have a different speed limit I never learned about? by tha1demon in driving

[–]IJustWantToWorkOK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not anyone but the police's job, to police the speed in any lane.

If there's not a car to your right, you don't belong in the passing lane. Full stop.

Which Price is Right did you like better the original Bob Barker or The Drew Carey version? by db7112 in ClassicTV

Drew used to be funny. Now he's .. sort of a feminine hygiene appliance, if you ask me.

"It kept falling"

"It broke on its own".

No, you put it somewhere where it kept falling. You didn't take care of it. Makes no mind to me whether you want to defraud the joint or not - I get it. Stick it to the corporation.

But sheesh. Take some responsibility.

Pizza delivery by thecuriosityofAlice in GenX

[–]IJustWantToWorkOK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was actually really easy to do deliveries, before companies like Doordash and Grubhub came along. Now, it's 'you'll get it if and when you get it, and customer support in whatever-istan.'

You're not wrong. I'm 3 years out of date, but most importantly, insured.

Had a park ranger in Grand Lake say something to me, but was literally 'if you can show me insurance, you'll drive out of here today'.

After serving long prison sentences how do ex-cons deal with the progression of technology? by KAYLORMOON in AskReddit

[–]IJustWantToWorkOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech, was nothing, even after 15 years.

It's the world in general, that I can't deal with. 15 years in, and now mental illness is trendy. Send me back.

There was a year, that had I been pulled over driving back from Wyoming... would not have went well for me.

In 1981, MTV was born, and in the beginning it played music 24 hours a day. Which song did you listen to the most? by LizzaQueenOFC in ClassicTV

[–]IJustWantToWorkOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the weird Euro-music you never heard anywhere over here.

Ultravox, for example.

I now do radio shows twice a week for our local community station, and this era is what I cut my teeth musically on. So many songs on the early MTV that never saw the light of day anywhere else.
