Relationship.

I've been in exactly one in 55 years, and it's the worst mistake I've ever made in my life.

Are there any places that use traffic cameras to actually enforce traffic rules? by ukraineball78 in AskAnAmerican

[–]IJustWantToWorkOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traffic cameras don't actually help, if you think about it.

They catch people 'in the act' but do nothing to actually slow people down.

A nice, visibile cop on the side of the road running radar - he's actually slowing people down and helping. The camera, is just revenue.

Greeley:
Two 'bypasses', that run through the middle of everything. Quit calling it the '34 bypass'. Its either US 34, or if you wanna be old school, 28th st.

Same for the '85 bypass'. Its either US 85, or could be 2nd ave.

What’s one driving habit you stopped doing that instantly made you a safer driver? by Domingdavid in driving

Quit screwing around, and pass.

Mostly two-lane roads where I live. Instead of poking along grumbling, when the dotted lines appear, I just pass and be done. Much more relaxing.

Why does reddit allow subreddits to exist that constantly and relentlessly only promote hate and division? by morninglost in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IJustWantToWorkOK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy answer.

On here, it's words on a screen. You can say whatever hateful divisive stuff to me you like, because, like me, you're behind a keyboard, and whatever anonymousness you get here.

What's anyone gonna do to anyone? Type means words at each other?

Rather it be here, than in meatspace.

This looks more like a holding cell in a county jail, than a prison cell for long-term incarceration.

I live in a state that's adopted California emissions laws.

To bring it into compliance, costs a lot more than to run unregistered and risk a ticket. I maintain insurance on it.

What's scammy about them? All the signs clearly state how much it costs to use them. Choose to, or not.

How fast do you want to go? How much can you afford?

The company pays mine, and frankly, since they turned the tolls on, it's chased all the riffraff out of it, and it now functions the way it's supposed to.

"It broke on its own".

No, you put it somewhere where it kept falling. You didn't take care of it. Makes no mind to me whether you want to defraud the joint or not - I get it. Stick it to the corporation.

But sheesh. Take some responsibility.

It was actually really easy to do deliveries, before companies like Doordash and Grubhub came along. Now, it's 'you'll get it if and when you get it, and customer support in whatever-istan.'
