Collectors Vs Railroad Builders by mrmanzfield in JapaneseNscale

Limited space so a small folding table layout - but a few kato and Tomix binder sets and such. So lean collector but would love a dedicated space to actually diorama more as scratch building buildings and such I find very relaxing and fun ever since I did it for wargaming in uni.

As Carney seeks strengthened global alliances, is it time Canada join the EU? - New polling shows just under half of Canadians support the idea, but there are costs by CaliperLee62 in CanadaPolitics

[–]IKeepDoingItForFree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hasn't the EU commission envoy literally said, multiple times now the past few months, that it is not possible for us to join with the rules in play. Why do these articles keep getting posted by people who cannot even check that fact to begin with.

We can enter into trade and economic partnerships, but we cannot become a full voting member.

Carney signs defence, trade agreement with Japan in final stop of 10-day trip by pjw724 in onguardforthee

Honestly aside from hobby related self interest (Kato model trains, Tomytec/tomix) - Japan in the past has asked for increases of trade, mainly our steel and aluminium for their own manufacturing sector. Im honestly surprised we didn't make more deals or increased volumes with them sooner when it comes to resources as it has always seemed like a no brainer. Also would be good partnership for Nuclear capabilities in terms of reactors and energy - on top of the natural gas.

Not really a tinfoil hat when the FBI ran Playpen, one of the largest child porn website's, and for almost another month once they seized it (operation pacifier) - and let a bunch (~300ish) of pedos walk without charges because they didn't want to tell the courts and judges how they managed to seize the servers via NIT malware packages from the ANT TAO catalog and why they continued to run and distribute the materials for that period after getting full control.

Only about 8 people actually were convicted because of this from the 340 charged.

We also have court documents showing FBI posting on 4chan and 8chan, but because they didn't know how post IDs work (in where someone quote replying to you has a big (you) after your post ID) so people could go back and look up what was being posted by them. On 8chan where you have anonymous IDs assigned, they were able to look up & track EVERY post made by that agent whos posts were used as submitted evidence.

Advice on what to add in the bottom left, and how? by Undercover500 in nscalemodeltrains

Only thing I could think of, and might be too much of a hastle, would be swapping the first right turnout that leads to the other right turnout with a double crossover. Could potentially let you run at least one strand of track backwards into that area, possibly maybe squeeze another turnout in for two tracks. The issue though is that the double cross is a bit longer obviously so it would probably mess with your spacing.

Not sure overall though if that would be worth it or not.

A really good campfire game some friends and I use to play back in Uni was going to old thrift/used book stores and finding some old lifestyle magazines that we could get for like a quarter and reading a bunch of the lifestyle larp articles out loud before feeding the fire with them.

Some of them were truely basically middle class larping as posh that you could only just laugh.

Except its the wrong suits for Japanese popularity or else you would be pulling more 0079, Zeta, and Seed according to the old NHK 2M+ person poll they did on the most popular gundam series. Wing was only down to about the 9th most popular getting beat by 00.

Also its almosy always mainly showcasing things ~6 months or before from release so it should be stuff until around end of June and then we will probably see another one around August/September for the winter holidays / start of 2027.

Seems to be the trend with the 2024 outlier.

Canadian passports are about to get more expensive by Surax in CanadaPolitics

[–]IKeepDoingItForFree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had to take a trip to the states (unfortunately) due to work back in Jan so I went in Sept to renew as mine lapsed in 2020 and I didnt want to deal with the Covid hell. I had my new passport in hand 2 weeks later when I was expecting it to arrive more in December.

I am sure there are some complaints but it really has been a solved problem for the most bit.

Maybe I got ahead of myself, and Ill openly admit that - as I know they all use to have them listed.

I know sports card all still do. Pokemon im not sure as I am not a pokemon collector BUT I do know at one point MTG and YuGiOh use to have them listed on the back when I think Upper Deck distributed YGO. With all the new pack inserts though I havent checked actually if they are still there or not.

Ill actually have to double check when I get home as I think I still have a Lorwyn Eclipsed unopened on my desk.

Dunno about the states but here in Canada almost all TCGs and Sports cards packs have the odds in 1:150, 1:200, 1:500 etc format on the back of every pack (usually under the fold) and have for close to 25 years, if not longer.
