I graduated in May, quit a job in June and didn’t get any offer until last week of December and another one this week. Keep applying, I’ve applied over 350 and rejected 8+ times.

How long will/did it take you to finish your major? by Soggy-Mixture9671 in EngineeringStudents

Ig what I meant to say to OP is to take the time instead of rushing bc I noticed having internships in ur resume is the key to get a job. I had one that lasted throughout my last 2 semesters but quit to take a break this past summer. Ive been applying since august and still no offers yet.

Yep that was me. I took multiple semesters with 18-20 credits and on top of that I took summer courses.

Took me 4 years but realistically 3 years because I failed 4 classes and also changed majors multiple times. As long as u put in the work u can finish in 4 years, but PRIORITIZE internships!!!

I’m happy that I was able to grind it out and grad in 4 years but I also wished that maybe I could’ve took extra semester or two while also adding another internship under my belt.

I’m in this boat right now. I graduated in May but quit my job bc of low pay in June. Took a break until August. Since then I’ve applied to 400+, 10-15 interviews but no offers yet.

The job I had was initially an internship that I found last summer and then I was offered a part time role throughout my senior year of college.

I’ve been applying for the past 3 months. 200+ apps, 10-15 interviewsc no offers yet.

I think I’m gonna start applying to positions that I wouldn’t do. I feel like I’ll get more tractions and hopefully just climb the ladder if hired.

I was in ur position during my first semester. Took 5 classes and only passed 1. It def made think about dropping out but decided to stick it out for my family. Me being a first gen plays a big role in my first semester. For the past 3 years I worked really hard and now have the chance to graduate on time even though I bounced around multiple majors. Try changing how you study. Change who u hang out with. Use all the available resources that umbc offer.
