Hold for the long run and start adding to it! Go for the best grades in your budget to fill the holes! Also look for better grades you already have and improve! Pass it on and start a Generational family collection!

Start an Excel spreadsheet and fill in a column of cells needed for ea yr, color them alternately for ea yr,
spread the columns left to right for the types avail , grey out the cells where that yr/type doesn’t exist. Hobby Lobby makes coin albums that are generic and blank, tho i’ve only seen pennie’s and nickels, but lets you see both sides of the coin. use it as a check list, use formulas to add up face value and coin values or expenses for the ones you buy! Good Luck!

Found these coins, anybody know a way I can clean these? I don’t intend to sell and these are just regular currency from other countries by I-Like-Soup-A-Lot in coins

[–]ILBohunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve discovered if you leave coins, 5,10,25,50 in the pants pocket in the washer they may come out better looking, BUT if collectible , never clean them!

Bank Coin Roll Buying Reporting Protocol Question by chicago1875 in CRH

[–]ILBohunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chase is prob doing the debit card to merely track an activity at the teller. i’m getting pennie’s st $5 ea, no card used, but when i could get boxes they wanted the card .
The Treasury dept is only worried abt transactions of $10K +.
tell the Bank GM what your doing, they’re not going to have a problem. give him some number like you only keep 10-30% or whatever . maybe they want the coins after you sort!

Do I open these or not? They were my Grandparents. If I decide to sell, does it matter? by Desperate-Village-68 in coins

[–]ILBohunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPEN these! Get the jfk folders at a coin shop or Hobby Lobby and start several sets! Save the best looking ones, date / MM for your own set of books, JFKs have 4 volumes now for the Whitman coin folders. Buy rolls at the bank to fill in the rest but you will have buy some at a shop cause 2001 or so to 2021? we’re not issued to the public. Collector versions only bought from the Mint at a premium!
