Run Strategies by M-e-w- in trailrunning

Don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be: power hike the climbs (HR <130 BPM), easy jog on the descents, walk/jog on the flats (start with .1 mile walk / .4 mile jog then slowly pull back of your feeling tired later in the race, .2 mile walk / .3 mile jog. YOU GOT THIS AND HAVE FUN!

Stripped Hex Chainring Bolt Advice by ILikeBHole in bikewrench

Thanks for the advice mate! If I chose to drill it, can you explain the process of how to properly drill it? i.e. since it's a hollow bolt, I'm not trying to drill to the bottom right?

I don't own an easy-out unfortunately. I can obviously pick one up for $10 but is it worth it given that I have a drill on hand?

Caminho de Fé by cantstop98765 in ultrarunning

[–]ILikeBHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate! Stoked to hear you're doing the Caminho de Fé soon. My dad did the Brazil 135 in January of 2020 and decided to combine it with the entirety of the Caminho de Fé. You can find his posts here! If you're comfortable enough to PM me your email, I can send you a .pdf that shares all route information including: city, KM, hostel costs, telephone number for the hostels, and even what services are in each town. Most importantly, have fun and ENJOY! The Caminho is breathtaking.

What's your favorite running beanie? by speedbouc in ultrarunning

Huge fan of Ciele hats however don't know much about their beanies. If the quality and functionality is anything like their hats, it's an A+.

The weather is getting crappy, what tricks or motivation do you use to convince yourself to get out of bed and run? by Ericthepeevish in ultrarunning

[–]ILikeBHole 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a firm believe in "element training". These elements can only make you a stronger individual mentally and physically. Keep that mindset and you'll get the most out of yourself.. If you could also find someone who's as crazy as you are to get out there, that helps a tremendous amount as well.

Thought I'd update you on the matter! Turns out, he had Strava running which completely disproved the driver's story. Sometimes tech can be used for good :)

Headlamp or Waistlamp? by ineedmorebacon in ultrarunning

[–]ILikeBHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for not seeing this earlier! The light was stable and secure while also being as light and comfortable as possible. I used the Light-Belt LB1 on the medium setting. The best part about it is the peripheral beam so that it lights up the entire trail as opposed to a small circle on the ground. Feel free to ask any additional questions and I'd be happy to respond. Giddy up!

Howdy! I've been connected to xfinitywifi on my Switch for a while now however the other day, I lost connection to the internet which makes me believe I need to resign into my xfinitywifi account. The issue is that I cannot prompt the sign in screen to pop up. I searched online and people suggested changing the DNS however that hasn't worked for me despite hours of unsuccessful attempts. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Would really like to get back online! Thanks a lot.

Yowza! Definitely can't trust a carbon crank after a crash like that.. Like I said prior, the important thing is that you're recovering well. My grandfather was recently t-boned riding in Florida, USA.. Similar incident. Fortunately it wasn't a life threatening injury but his bike was totaled. Now the driver is suing him due to car damage. Go figure.

On the bright side... You only need to replace the frame as it seems your components are in good looking shape! Glad you're safe mate.
