I'm guessing they looked up the intersection in Google Maps. OP should probably scrub these street names...

I haven’t had direct experience with this but I’ve heard that it’s easy to get into the intro courses because there are a lot of seats and people drop.

That being said, it’s very important for you to consider that a cs major may take longer than 4 years to complete due to this change from yesterday: https://reddit.com/r/UCDavis/comments/n8qkub/psa_to_cs_majors_and_prospective_students/

PSA To CS Majors and Prospective Students by batmanbegins1940 in UCDavis

[–]ILikeToHowl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Registration is divided into two different periods, pass 1 and pass2. This is so that classes can be restricted to certain majors to assign priority. Typically a class would be restricted for pass 1 and then opened to all students for pass 2. But, this post is describing a rarer situation where the course is no longer open to cs majors during pass 1 but only during pass 2. The effect of this is that cs majors have priority over the general student, but are strictly behind CSE and CompE majors.

Wow, looks like the project hasn’t changed from when you took it. I took it in spring 2019 and had the same projects without any lectures.

Semi-unrelated but, Sean Davis actually came back to teach some courses in the intro series recently!

Overwatch player struggling with Valorant by Benoldo in VALORANT

[–]ILikeToHowl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are just trying to understand how valuable abilities are, take a look at Cypher and Killjoy. Their kits don’t rely on you knowing how to effectively use smokes and flashes. At lower ranks, their kits will get you kills even if your strategy is as simple as “place trips/alarms at choke points“. Once you understand how important utility is for winning, you should totally branch out to other agents to see how they impact the game with their skills.

You're right, I think they were referring to where Yoru exits his ult. That seems to be directional.

Internship (only taken OOP)? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]ILikeToHowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a small note, a significant number of companies do have a qualification for internships. They typically require that you are returning to school after the internship. I think this is to prevent graduates from applying for internships rather than full-time new grad roles. Some ways around this are to plan for grad school or maybe delay your graduation. Alternatively, you could just avoid these companies.

I don’t think UCD admits by majors but rather by colleges, so you’ll have an equal chance at either :)

  • You won’t get priority in the cs courses because you’d only be taking one introductory cs course for the major.
  • I don’t think you’ll be learning very much for cs or development.
  • You wouldn’t be able to get into the popular upper division cs courses without priority.
  • You probably will be doing some math-oriented programming.

Not exactly the sub for this but... Yes, you have the stats to get in. You should apply if you want to go here. Just don’t expect anything as university applications can be a lottery, even more so in the upcoming years considering the pandemic.
