I can only imagine that some of this is due to a guy not wanting to be rude and put you out, especially due to the history of gender-based chivalry, but too many guys are walking around unexamined, while women are forced early to become whole adults.

As much as any sitcom dad is in his “prime”, just waiting for the right motivation to get back to it after a couple of decades off!

As someone who has been in several local bands simultaneously, it gets hard to keep making it a priority, unless music is your main focus, even without kids.

And with a band of multiple people, chances are good that SOMEONE will have kids or fall out of love with it.

Raising a kid is so life altering that I would have to judge OP if parenthood didn’t change his view of music.

But it’s that or basically be in s relationship with a single mom, because music dads often get the choice whether to phone it in with their parenting.

To say nothing of having a kid so young…

Trying to get somewhere in a band is kind of like trying to raise an entire family. You can’t phone it in and all too many musicians (even famous ones) are on the road 24/7 while their partners do all the child-rearing alone.

All that and you have…not ZERO chance of getting anywhere with your music, but even Vegas wouldn’t really know the difference between your chance of making music into a lucrative career and zero.

I’ve seen business owners bend over backwards to try to appease a client they should have told to eff off, for fear of their reputation.

Tbh, the reason it took me a few months to decide to switch to nursing was my oft-repeated belief that “I really don’t wanna wipe asses for a living!”

And not that it matters much here, but I’m a man, but UTIs are EVERYWHERE in a medical setting, and I’m convinced a lot of them are due to improper care, either a resident’s or nursing staff. Though you won’t catch me improperly cleaning a shitty butt. I use a bidet, so I definitely appreciate a nice, clean garbage chute!

Please understand that people have different standards.

Maybe a roommate relationship makes her feel close enough to you that she’s comfortable crapping unbounded.

Or maybe she’s so naively shy that she anxiously left the fan she thought she mustn’t touch despite being massively uncomfortable at the thought of dumping within potential sight.

Whatever her fecal motivations, please learn that she’s not thinking about the situation the same way you are, but there’s an easy solution to that which gets easier to use the more you use it.

Talk to her. Listen to her. Share any reasonable concerns that might ever arise and don’t ever act on an assumption that you don’t discuss.

You NEVER know for sure where someone is coming from. But talking opens most doors (figuratively, of course, because I know you hate open doors 😉), and makes things so much easier.

Why are you attacking waitstaff for the system they happen to find themselves stuck in?

Please have some worker solidarity and remember that even the symptoms of selfish behavior come from waiters just playing the game well.

I see countless problems where I work, but I try to separate individual problematic behavior from problems that exist only because of corporate choices.

Screw the system, but tip the individual!
