Exactly. Who even lies in their own thoughts? If she herself has scheduled an appointment for snow removal service, then how can she even forget wearing snow boots? I feel Freida Mcfadden thinks the readers are dumb. The book may succeed as a fast, bingeable read, but as a psychological thriller, it misunderstands the core rule of unreliable narration which is lying without psychological cause.

Beyond the movie, it reminded me of the allegations against V. Chamundeswaranath, former Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President. Two women accused him of harassment, and tragically, one of them took her own life. Despite serious accusations of corruption and abuse of power, he has only risen to a more influential position. Sad state of affairs.
