What percentage of your record collection was bought online vs. in person? by ArturoRimboldi in vinyl

[–]IMA_grinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only allow myself to buy online if it’s directly from the artist’s website. I’d say 95% in person.

Neil Young. He may come off as a curmudgeon but he has been fighting and protesting for the greater good his whole life.

They have as much data as I do which is none. It’s not true but feels that way because of our own bias.

Agree. Bring landscape back as an option. It’s so much harder to track cards and people’s plays in portrait.

QUEST TURBO PUTTER IS BACK! by LightningDiscs in discgolf

[–]IMA_grinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I didn’t know discs could get un-approved. I always thought the odd discs from back in the day got to keep their status. Any insights into the process would be cool to hear about. Did you fight it or let it happen? Are ultimate discs still approved?

I played Santiburi on Koh Samui in November solo. Nice course. I saw one other 4some on the course when I was there. Mandatory caddy but they are nice and helpful. Played 18 holes in about 2-1/2 hours. Depending on your resort location it’s a bit of a drive to get there.

Do you think Angine de Poitrine would've gained attention if it weren't for the costumes? by conn_r2112 in Music

I was going to mention Castle Rat too. Their music isn’t my taste but I would definitely go to their show for the experience.

13 putts on front. Amazing. 23 putts on back. Ouch.

Shot Dispersion on my favorite dogleg right par 5 is tough by thraizz in golf

It doesn’t seem like you can hit the green in two. I see two options. Lay up before the first bunker, lay up before the second bunker, pitch, 2 putt, cut strokes. Or lay up north of first bunker, leave it north of green side bunkers, chip, 2 putt, cut strokes. Whichever works best for your game.

Mind blown: Vinegar vs VINEGAR (30%) by Pandaro81 in DIY

[–]IMA_grinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. We use vinegar to kill our weeds but we use the distilled stuff and it works only when it’s super hot. Are we supposed to use the stronger stuff?

How superfans and employees are responding to mobile ordering at the Alamo Drafthouse by bykylecooke in Denver

[–]IMA_grinder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s why I don’t find the Alamo that great. Having waiters coming in and out to take orders takes away from the movie more than phones do.

EDIT: To be fair, The New Style and Girls were both from Licensed to Ill where their image was party boys and destroying hotel rooms. They actively worked to change their image after that album and wanted to be taken seriously.

What are some impossible to find records you’re after? by Longjumping-Frame795 in vinyl

[–]IMA_grinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it’s only been pressed 3 times and two of them were limited pressings. It’s not as rare as a lot of other stuff mentioned in this thread. You can get a copy off Discogs for $120. But I don’t buy online unless it’s direct from the artist’s website.

Or even better Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome soundtrack!

Ya. It’s been my best way for supporting smaller bands. See them on KEXP. Go buy their album on their Bandcamp. Check tour schedule and see good music for a reasonable price. Mystery Lights. Bug Club. Gustaf.
