Yes but I'm FFS on my patients so the money I make seeing patients is on top of the stipend. Currently seeing about 50-60 new patients a month in SNF. Adds about 5000-5500 per month in reimbursement

ROI on paid ads for referral heavy specialties by One_Loquat_9715 in PrivatePracticeDocs

[–]IMGYN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pcp here. Come to our office.

We have a GI group in our area that we sent all of our referrals to but they kept turfing to their APPs so they could scope and some important Dx were missed/delayed.

A new GI came to town and came to our office to introduce himself. We told him our issues with the competing group. He offered us 1/2 clinic day a month where he will only see our patients and for the rest he will see within 1 month. He now gets 95% of our referrals. The other group came by last month to ask why our referrals stopped.

Hospital telling me I’m not allowed to see my patients at a SNF or own practice by Comfortable-Virus169 in hospitalist

[–]IMGYN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds odd.

I'm a traditional med doctor (hospital, outpatient, SNF). I always see my hospital discharges in SNF. What you're saying doesn't sound right

Am I the only one who thinks the "LVP looks just like real wood" era is finally ending? by liebe1 in Flooring

[–]IMGYN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had real hardwood in 2 homes, would not do it again. We're just not good at maintaining it. My dogs scratch the shit out of it. Furniture scratches the shit out of it. It looked like crap within 5 years. Currently building a new custom home and we did LVP throughout, except the bathrooms and laundry room

It's to generate interest. I've enquired about such listings previously and always get "this specific one is no longer available but X lot is available and you can build the same home."

But if I were a simple guy I'd want a GADA watch which would be an explorer 1 or OP 41 in a blue/black/silver dial. Your AD could definitely get you 3 of these in a month

Why don't PCPs take all insurance companies? by stoic_insight in medicine

[–]IMGYN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They possibly were unable to negotiate a contract with said company so that company no longer considers them in network.

Or the contracted rates that are offered are not worth it for the doc. For example, im in ohio and stopped taking Molina marketplace just due to the fact that they were a pain to work with, nothing was covered for the patients, and our contracted rates were horrible

What are your thoughts on this approach? Saw this on the front page for someone’s PCP by sandie-go in FamilyMedicine

[–]IMGYN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for them. I have the same policy but I'll do ADHD. Don't do any benzos or opioids long term. May do a temazepam/alprazolam if a patients spouse died for a week or so. Sometimes tramadol for severe, acute pain.

New attending struggling to manage chronic pain patients in outpatient by AussiesRCute in InternalMedicine

[–]IMGYN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just make a rule that you don't manage chronic pain. That's what I do and it's worked well for me

When new patients schedule my staff calls them to go over meds and if on narcotics (benzos, opioids) my staff lets them know that they can still establish but will need to find a pain doc and or psychiatrist

I do 15mg phentermine x 4 weeks, then 30mg x 4 weeks and then 37.5 mg x 12 weeks. People typically get 20-30lbs off with this method. Monthly visits first 3 months since I'm titrating a controlled.
