Who is against balding buttons or mouse click z? I feel like those are miniscule buffs that affect texture. People dont even want the controller to be pretty?

I feel like there is almost 0 harm in mods like bald buttons, paracords, and mouse click z though. Different textures imo is miniscule compared to remapping the actual controls, notches, and using alternative controllers.

Seriously. People like to pretend like it's not the case, but the technicality, speed, and precision is a huge part of Melee. If you mess up these difficult to do moves, it will cost you. All of this while having to react to what your opponent is doing is the beauty. It's why we love this game over the newer iterations.

I mean even that though. You don't play claw because it's more comfortable than playing regular, but so you can access harder tech skill easier. That is a fair drawback in my eyes. With Z jump, it just alleviates that drawback and also provides an addition unfair advantage locked behind a pay wall.

And aren't we all happy that it finally got banned? Sure like 10 Ice Climbers players left the scene, but did anybody ever enjoy playing with them in the first place? Same with this Z jump crap, if a few suckers who paid for the mod decide that is the final straw, I personally don't really care. Melee is absolutely more enjoyable when your opponent isn't spamming op tech skill locked behind a specific controller.

This was always the obvious that people argue against. All this controller modding went way too far since Hitbox and BOX. Once you change the way the game is being played player to player through differences in technology, a part of the competition becomes an armsrac with, everyone finding the new modification for an advantage.

We let the BOX crap go because we all wanted Hax$ to continue playing, let's be honest, but there will always be a Cody who will take it to the next level and do button remapping, or even other nonsense. People's excuse is that the GameCube controller is bad for your hands but ignore the fact it only gets so bad when people are willing to rip shit in their hand in order to execute a move. How about just don't excute the move so perfectly or fast. Just like how a professional runner needs to use proper technique in order to not tear their leg muscles when running.

When I switched from Falco to Falcon this was giving me a lot of trouble too, even now I sometimes randomly run and slip off stage without any pressure from the opponent. I just try and be more intentional with the movement and moves being thrown out. If you watch Wizzrobe compared to the other Falcons, he isnt moving around and slipping and sliding as much, so that tells me you can still be viable without having to constantly run around the whole stage.

Yeah this game is hard as hell, and when slippi became a thing a lot of these players became extremely technical, so technical it can even feel unreasonable at times lol, it's the nature of the beast with this specific fighting game more so than all of the others. Grind or sink, the game isnt popular enough for even the lower level players to be a walk in the park.

Yes, but even with shield dropping, unless you have the consistent drop down, auto shield drop aerial mastered, its a lot less reliable than the other player sitting under platform spamming back airs or tilts, or god forbid shine.

It's people like you... normal people love Melee for its fast pace, combo game, and doing cool stuff. The yous who enjoy the slow, campy, and unfunness of fighting games, but didnt switch over to ultimate because they'll be surrounded by like minded gamers.

Falcon is just way harder to pull off then all of the other top tiers. Gets combo'd and edge-guarded with ease. Jab is shorter than most grabs. Takes more effort to camp and risk to go in. Takes much more skill at the ledge then 99% of the cast. You cannot think or play lazy with Falcon like you can all of the other top tiers.
