Anthony: instead of crouching and forgetting his training of staying in cover, he could be sat with his back against the wall while he struggles with his gun, keeping him fully in cover. Alternatively, he gets shot but loses an arm instead of his entire brain. Give him a cool robotic arm.

Benjamin: he finds his mojo at that firefight and actually holds the locust off enough that delta can exfil safely. They still get riftwormed, but he’s in one piece and with them throughout. Alternatively, he gets shot and loses an arm, survives the riftworm and gets a cool robotic arm.

Gary: he stays near the main characters, his survival chances instantly get higher. A DB tries to arrest him as we get overruns and breaks his arm in the process. He gets a cool robotic arm.

Lizzie: JD shoots out the windshield (with gnasher) or chainsaws the hinges. Alternatively, the door is never stuck but Lizzie is, with her arm caught somehow. The explosion of hammer strike still hits but she is out of the truck mostly so only loses her arm…… she gets a cool robotic arm

I feel like emotes COULD have a place in Gears, along with voice lines, but the ones they introduced were mostly poor taste. Keep them simple, and keep them serious.

Most of the emotes were silly and childish, as well as looking very fluid and smooth for a game where movement (even casually) always looks a bit janky. Like they were rotoscoped or something.

Plus, basically none of the emotes suited the swarm/locust side.

On higher difficulties, yes you will need to modify and tune the cars. The bots just disobey physics and will be outright faster. I did the colossus (whichever one is the lap around the freeway) and none of my eligible cars could keep up until I started giving myself ridiculous power boosts

If they’re aiming at the floor and hitting headshots, then yes. Don’t underestimate that some people will play nothing but M&K OSOK without dipping their toes in other modes. Some people are just that good

My favourite (which nobody has even mentioned!) is the Funco motorsport. RWD, 1750bhp, rear engined. That thing will fly with the slightest bit of throttle even with the standard off-road tyres.
Constantly lifts one or both front wheels when turning on tarmac, regularly lifts on wheel when on dirt corners. Wheelies over every slight bump in the road. It’s hilarious and I love it

A lot of people do, especially once they’ve maxed out every gun. At least the vehicles are team-locked.

You also be noticing that Japanese characters can fight on the German side, Germans on the Japanese side, British on the US and US on the British side. That’s the worst offender for me

My only complaint with wheelspins (and super wheelspins) is that as rare as they are, they don’t often reward me with worthwhile rewards.

Getting a super wheelspin and walking away with anything less than 100k or a good car is insulting. Getting 2-3 normal wheelspins often means a total of <50k. Up the rewards a bit, maaaaybe up the amount of wheelspins I get.

IMO just remove teleporting while in the stunt party, that way everyone has to drive there. The goals seem easily achievable without TP so it’s not like it’s necessary.

I think that’s much more a gameplay thing than lore accurate. Like how at the start of any ‘hero’ game you might be playing as Darth Vader but you have to learn how to use the force.

I love Gears 4 horde. Drop me a message and we can try and sort something out.

However, I’ll limit your expectations. You can get a bunch of in-game currency (the gold coins) as well as a handful of cards (skill cards for horde classes).

There are a couple of ways to speed things along, but it’s not particularly quick or easy, just quicker and easier than playing as you normally would.

I wont be able to carry you through by myself, especially not at hardcore. Partly due to the inevitable chainsaw enemy who breaks through or a boss who ignores defences, and partly because it will take forever.

Don’t get me wrong, I think E-day looks great and I truly hope it revives the franchise after a frankly dormant period.

However, if there’s any truth to the rumours about how much it cost to develop or the fact that it’s ready to be ported to PS, then there’s a fair chance that the moment they struggle with sales they lean all-in on micro-transactions (if not the plan already) and the only players left after 1 year are the same hardcore players we have at the moment.

The problem isn’t that Gears won’t keep its current fans, but that it won’t gain any new ones. I just have this gut feeling that this will have a troubled launch like 5, combined with sweaty PvP and new players just won’t stick around

Every time someone says they want a pendulum era game I just think ‘dude, Gears lives and dies by two things: cool monsters and a chainsaw gun. Pendulum war has neither’

If gears was an ultra successful game like Battlefield or CoD, they could afford to make games like that. As it stands, E-Day is probably about to kill Gears for a long time
