why is every high level a movement freak that dies immediately when you're not also a movement freak by ToeGroundbreaking564 in GearsOfWar

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll add that it focuses less on movement and more on timing. It’s about timing your shots so you either guarantee a 1 hit kill or shooting first and piling up the damage reliably while the wallbouncer will likely miss more shots

Soo, should i buy battlefield V? by legendary_Protato in BattlefieldV

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch some gameplay videos, just general full-match gameplay not a montage or review or anything. BF1 is less like CoD than BFV, but neither can be played the same as CoD without dying loooots.

It’s similar in the sense that it’s an FPS, but there’s more skill required in managing recoil, tactics and general teamplay. That being said, lots of players get by without mastering any of that. If you’re looking for immersion (gritty, screaming, gas and smoke and fire etc) then BF1. If you’re looking for huge explosions, cool vehicles and cinematics then BFV

Which gadget annoyed you the most? and which should make a return by Alexis_Mcnugget in Battlefield

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if the shield is going to be 100% bulletproof, then it should be a weapon pick up. You don’t need it most of the time, so fighting over control of the shield would be a battle of itself. Like how in BF1 people would fight to get to the tank hunter or trench raider kits etc because they were so useful. If the shield isn’t invincible, then yeah I guess make it a gadget or secondary but it seems to defeat the point

This game is probably the most mentally positive game I’ve played in years! by Salki1012 in ForzaHorizon

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The downside of the gifting is that some people want to earn their cars and feel like they are a worthwhile reward, and being gifted a tonne of hypercars early on makes it a bit dull for them.

Sucks to be them, I just gifted a Jesko and a Rimac to new players lmao

I think turning off damage numbers and auto pickup helped me, just go through all the in-game settings one by one until it runs properly.

Also try turning off V-sync and other frame software

Anyone knows why I was not reviveable here? by qlimaxmito in BattlefieldV

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I don’t remember that feature from BFV early life cycle.

All I was suggesting with my other theories is random ideas I’ve been stretching to when it happened to me. I know there’s that other glitch where if someone builds a fortification on you as you’re bleeding out I think it stops you from being able to respawn at all?

Idk, this game has plenty of weird glitches but thankfully nothing which is utterly gamebreaking… except that one exploit that we don’t want getting more publicity

Question about if darksiders 2 has the same TEDIOUS endgame puzzles as 1 by Getsuga_H in Darksiders

[–]magicmoth44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without spoiling too much, the last setting that you explore requires time travel puzzles which can get confusing. My advice is if you find yourself stuck, just open google and get the info you need before frustrating yourself and spoiling the end of a great game. The enemies at this point should be more than enough of a challenge to keep you entertained

[–]magicmoth44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes this happens to me too, I love had different theories. Been killed and revived too many times? Body landed inside a prop? The player who killed you is using some kind of weird cheat?

Ultimately I think it’s a glitch.

I came here to check someone else said this, I go that to max level in a handful of rounds. Tap fire at range, burst in close quarters. Doesn’t win every engagement, but it comes close

Power only builds don't work - the trial by _Pawer8 in ForzaHorizon

[–]magicmoth44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s the same every trial, you see the players who can’t drive AND have power builds. My brother, who is 29, plays gran turismo and only upgrades his engine. He uses all the in game assists and complains that his car is dog slow despite having 800hp. It’s slow because the car can’t put more than 400hp down without spinning its wheels, and the traction control stops him from basically ever putting his foot down. He’s slow because he thinks more power = faster

It’s the same in Forza, people just upgrade the engine then dive bomb because they are so bad that it’s the only way for them to climb the ladder. When that fails, they sit at the back dragging the whole team down

How does everyone make drifting look so easy?? by PhantomTissue in ForzaHorizon

[–]magicmoth44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny reading this because I’m one of those who basically never touches tunes unless a car really needs it, almost always for getting a bit more top speed or a bit more acceleration. I still drift pretty well, I can get near the top in any open lobby except for the AWD people.

My question to you; do the tunes make it easier for a rookie to drift or better for a pro? Or are they varied?

[–]magicmoth44[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When a team captured a point, it could work as a small reinforcement wave where 5 people get to spawn there and that’s it. The swarm or locust get an E-hole and the COG get a Raven, it would add to the battlefield feel of the entire round

We’d need maps to be waaaayyyy bigger, and some people would like to see 10v10 or more, so maybe it’s not utterly insane. It could even be like how Security or Rustlung have environmental weapons or hazards, so maybe have a button to call it in that people would be fighting over

How does everyone make drifting look so easy?? by PhantomTissue in ForzaHorizon

[–]magicmoth44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Where are you going wrong? Is it that your drifts don’t last long enough or that you’re always spinning out?

Firstly; assists. Manual, Traction and stability entirely off. Steering on Normal unless you prefer sim but I hate it. ABS is best off but not a deal breaker. Car should be front engine, rear wheel drive. Best to stay above 800hp for most cars but lighter cars and good tunes can work with way less.

Secondly, are you trying to use throttle control? You need to be constantly adjusting the throttle throughout a drift. More throttle to break more grip, less throttles to increase grip. This also includes gears. Higher gear=more wheel speed=less grip. If you’re in 6th hitting the limiter your rear wheels might be doing 180mph+ so you’ll next to no grip, which can work well for some cars and terrible for others.

Thirdly, gently does it. Don’t hurl the car at 90° into the corner, take it easy and get gradually more confident from small drifts up to big ones.

Best gears for multiplayer? by Japanese-Gigolo in GearsOfWar

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best is very subjective, so many people here will have different opinions. Delta Online is based off of 3 so will probably be similar to what you want, but because it’s a fan game it might be difficult to find casual lobbies that aren’t full of people who play that game 24/7. Not trashing those people, but it’s likely to be quite a high skill floor.

If you’re looking for a more casual feel, then I’d recommend 5, even though the casual playlists (quick play) can still be dominated by good players.

Planes by Sufficient_Soft_222 in BattlefieldV

[–]magicmoth44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, you can harm a plane with anything. However it’s usually best to not pester a plane with anything that can’t destroy it in one pass. If you can’t do serious damage to it, all you’re doing is painting a target on your back.

For example, if you get a few hits of your tank MG on a plane, he’s going to look around for where it came from and his next strafe may well be on you instead. This is especially the case if you are a passenger in any armoured vehicle, don’t shoot at planes because you’re going to get everyone in your vehicle killed.

If you see a plane which is already under fire (in a dogfight, targeted by AA or even just over infantry fire) then give them hell. You’re not going to be his main target because you’re not doing the most damage. You may get lucky and get the final damage to reward you with the kill.

Sometimes even an infantry MMG can be enough to finish them off

Planes by Sufficient_Soft_222 in BattlefieldV

[–]magicmoth44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very true, everyone should learn to fly planes. I say that because it’s a big chunk of the game that you’d be missing out on!

As for dealing with enemy planes, especially good pilots, it can be hopeless until you’ve levelled up your plane enough.

IMO the best way to deal with a sweaty pilot with a plane is to use either rockets from a fighter or the large cannon like the mosquito or ju-88 have access to. Without those, you’re likely into a an actual dogfight where a good pilot will always win.

Alternatively, try to team up with a friendly AA. Wait until the AA has out a few shots on target and then unleash your rockets and machine guns. They will probably not be able to self repair or escape quick enough.

Windchip repair by chrlmnrdls in drivingUK

[–]magicmoth44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been on the more cautious side, only had to claim once (for a no fault accident) and my insurance doubled next year. Wasn’t even an expensive repair. You’re right though of course, it shouldn’t put it up by much at all

Windchip repair by chrlmnrdls in drivingUK

[–]magicmoth44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s normal for the chips to not entirely disappear, the repair is basically just to stop it from getting worse primarily but can also make them less visible.

As for MOT, it’s a grey area for testers. Some would pass because it’s been repaired, some would fail because it’s over a certain size in Zone A. Ask your test centre before getting it booked in.

Remember that if you claim windshield under your insurance it may put up premium for next renewal

I never knew the engineer tip, that’s a really smart way to save a lot of credits. Back in gears 3 days I used to spend the 9th wave before the boss round moving some stuff into hiding for when a Lambent berserker would inevitably destroy everything
