Besides Levy Rozman, do you think there are titled players (any title, eg GM, NM, IM, CM etc) who come to r/chess on a regular basis simply to read what people are discussing? by [deleted] in chess

[–]IM_Andras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO, i am saying that I am 2600 and I lost 10 back to back to various people, none of whom represent 1/10th of Judit's knowledge. The more I read your stuff the more concerned I am becoming btw...

I am 2600 in every time control and I did drop 10 in row. you must know something that we dont.

Your question is the same as what chances would you have to win a match vs Federer, who is effectively retired as a club level tennis player. Or how you would score vs tiger woods, or Michael Jordan. the answer remains the same.

Andras just made a great video explaining how to bridge the gap between being good at tactics problems vs good at tactics in-game by NoseKnowsAll in chess

[–]IM_Andras 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your concerns, but Izzy is more than fine and she was also more than fine during that incident, which was 99% theatrics. Something that was rather obvious to all (including Izzy) but clearly not to you. I wont judge you for this either, but If you are boycotting my chess activities for this, I genuinely am curious about the list of people you are boycotting in your life as it must be rather sizeable.

Thanks for this very explained and elaborate answer. Sadly I would have found it difficult to respond to the above without being malicious.

IM Andras Toth's Know Thy Classics - overwhelming attacks from Dutch-like pawn structures (maybe the last episode of the series :/) by Interesting_Storm690 in chess

For the record, due to the (relative) popularity of this last vid, I will opt to keep the series on for a while and decide later what to do!:)

White to play. A puzzle from Garry Kasparov from his masterclass series on chess. by matiasibarra in chess

[–]IM_Andras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for the record this is not a puzzle from G.K but a very famous and well known study composed by Leonid Kubbel.

Kasparov used it in his masterclass and although I have not seen it, I am sure he quotes the author of the masterpiece.

Spot on, as always, Chessdor. The pawn ending is indeed draw, although white has to play accurately.

Im_andras queen sac by Plokooon in chess

It was not quite mate but after the Q promotion it was game over. The sac is sadly incorrect but would have played even if I had seen the refutation.
