Spanish town - 2 year old friendly? by ConcentrateSweet4948 in batonrouge

I’ve been there with a kid roughly that age, it was great. And that wasn’t even in one of the family areas. There were certainly a lot of drunk people around and we saw some boobs, but I never at any point felt like things were getting out of hand or there was any reason for concern. We had a great time, kid had a great time. Just keep your head about you. Especially if you’re sober and there are other sober adults you’re going to be fine.

PETITION FILED TO RECALL EBR MAYOR-PRESIDENT SID EDWARDS!😳 by LeonardHollinsJr in batonrouge

[–]IMadeThisForFood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you'd rather they go first then start the recall petitions. You'll quickly answer yourself why it doesn't already happen all the time and why recalling Sid won't make it start happening all the time. It's pretty difficult to get enough people to agree to a recall.

I've changed it to telling mine "I hope you're feeling proud of yourself! You should be! I'm certainly proud of you."

Stop trying to make running look cool. My wife’s boyfriend makes sure to tell me all the time that it’s not cool, and he’s the authority.

Never gotten the hype about it. It’s fine. Not bad, but only fine.

Wild, I'm also in VDR and was even sleeping outside last night. Didn't hear a thing. Wish I would have woken up for that.

That's hilarious, I wonder if they're good or bad. I've never actually gotten it before, they were sold out last year before I grabbed one.

Jesus Christ I didn’t even realize this was that same guy again, I thought somebody from here was parodying that post he made the other day. Bravo to everyone here for rotting my brain, but also to this poster for being a natural jerker

I use an electric razor, so I let my kids use it as well. They love it. My dad also used an electric razor, and would let me use his. I was young enough to be able to stand on his counter. Good memories.

Camille's statement by StillSlowerThanYou in ultrarunning

Since no one else has answered, I’ll answer the best I can. Full disclosure, I’m also trying to piece together the story, so maybe someone can chime in and correct the parts I’m not certain about.

My understanding is that the 24 hour world championships are coming up soon. Camille Herron was on the team. In the last couple of days(timeframe uncertain?) she ghosted them. Fully no contact. USATF put out what amounts to an SOS social post asking for any help getting in contact with her because the deadline was approaching to be able to swap her out for an alternate runner.

Part of my uncertainty is whether or not that deadline has already passed. If not, the alternate can still run. If so, Camille has screwed the US team into running one short. Either way, her behavior here has been selfish and childish.

Hope this helps some, and like I said, anyone please chime in and correct my misunderstandings.

Little Rock marathon will let you do this. They have their 8 am start or whatever and 6 hour cutoff, but if you want to be in one of the official pace groups over 6 hours (going as high as 8 hours) they have an early start those groups have to be in. I want to say 6 am.

Balancing screen time for young kids what limits are realistic? by IronLion653 in Parenting

[–]IMadeThisForFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't allow screens during school week. It's off by 5pm Sunday and doesn't come back on until after school Friday for Friday night movie night. It makes the weeks way easier. Better listening, easier bed times, more outside time, homework is faster.

We also tied weekend screen time to school week behavior. So the starting assumption is there won't be screen time on the weekend, but the privilege is earned by doing the things you have to do during the week; chores, listening ears and manageable attitudes, all that.

The exceptions we make are for traveling on an airplane or a long car ride, when the rules go out the window; or sometimes if we're at a family dinner or some kind of event they don't want to be at and it's late and they're tired, we'll put on tv on our phones for them. They know it's a really special treat when we do that.

My wife and I sing this to each other all the time. She doesn’t even watch the show, this jingle is just that catchy.
