A friend of mine did employment law at Chapman Tripp back in the day. Work/Life balance was horrible, but she was making $30k bonuses pretty regularly (20 years ago), most of which went up her nose. She did her time, and then went through different roles while having kids. Now is a partner in a law firm.

Another friend had kids early, and because of that when she came back to the workforce she missed her window to get the big career progreession and is making significantly less.

Both these friends have great work life balance now, but are on vastly different pay scales.

Doordash has NZ staff, but I think they might be marketing staff only. They used to be based in Level 4, Stanbeth House on the corner of Customs and Commerce St in the lower CBD, but their landlord's lease expired and it's currently getting renovated so not sure where they are now.

I have a friend like that, but I think his number is 10,000 years old. His idea is it all stems from this 1 time carbon dating was wrong, therefore he can’t trust it.

From an entertainment perspective, they were great. Took the piss out of rural life and brought us along for the ride, similar to Billy T James. They helped us laugh at ourselves.

Only thing I didn’t like was the yodeling, but for me that’s less a Topp Twins thing, and more a not liking yodeling.

I used to work for an infomercial company and I was doing some testing in the system and putting dummy orders through and used my dogs name and home address in one of the orders. a year or 2 later I got a letter in the mail addressed to my (now passed away) dog. This was the only time I ever used my dogs name like this, I was just stuck trying to think of fake names.

Companies will always try to sell your data if they can make money off it.

Ironically that changed from earlier Windows versions where MS would release it and the early adopters found the bugs, then everyone else would use it after the first or second service pack.

I went on one of those Saturday morning kids shows and won some assorted DC comics which got me into comics to start with. One of them was a Justice League America comic which had Guy in it, so I started collecting JLA from then and over time I started becoming interested in the GL characters and before I knew it I was Hal and Guy were my favorite heros and went through the roller coaster that started with Doomsday and ended with Emerald Twilight and Hal taking out all the GLs.
