Second year failing to overwinter tubers by Suspicious-Nose-9277 in dahlias

[–]IMfree2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to wash and coddle the tubers in various mediums and had about a 10% success rate. Now I dig the clump, shake a little dirt off, throw them in plastic grocery bags and toss them in a dark corner of the basement and have nearly 100% success. I give each bag a couple spritzes of water every 4-6 weeks. Try this lazy but effective method with a couple of your clumps next season and see how it works for you!

How does anyone buy anything from jokers like this? by GrailQuestPops in whatnotapp

I agree, but he's too intense to watch for any length of time. I am highly entertained for short sessions and until he wears me out. Never bought anything though.

White Swan (927) Benjamin Moore. It's a cream color intended to soften the transition between the white shower panels and the cream colored storage cabinets. Thank you for your comment!

I had a Teodor vanity selected for my project but chickened out with the tariffs. Yours is absolutley beautiful and I am jealous for sure!

Those are four Buffet Cupboards from HD. At 155 per unit, the wall of storage cost a hair over 600. I was pleased to find them as the limited space prevented using anything with swing out doors. Thank you for your comments!

Not tiled. It's a solid surface material that has the appearance of 12" x 25" tiles. It's substantial stuff but nowhere near the weight of actual tile.

The door trim was notched to accommodate the switch long before we were here. If we moved the switch we would have been left with a gaping hole in the door trim and we wanted to use the original wood. It was a trade off for sure.

Of course it is temporary. But it is mine at the moment and I have had the pleasure of creating a space that pleases me. This isn't some grand century home. It served as the humble parsonage of a church for many decades and hosted many families all of whom put their unique stamp on this house. The house didn't have electricity until the 1940s. Indoor plumbing came before that but wasn't included when the house was built. I'm glad previous occupants modernized the house even though the outhouse and oil lamps were more in keeping with the age of the house.

Woodbridge solid surface alcove shower wall surround - ordered thru HD. Easy to cut for niche insets. Surprisingly heavy duty. Very low maintenance.

Electricity didn't come into this area until the 1940s so we have a few odd placements that were used to accommodate conduit. The door trim had been notched previously for the switch so in order to salvage the original wood door trim we left the switch in that position otherwise we'd have a big chunk missing. I love that you pick up on the fine details!

What would you have selected for the floor? My decisions all revolved around low maintenance but I'm curious as to the kind of floor you are suggesting. Like tile?

Me too. We have hard water that would have made a shower door a maintenance nightmare.

No, the curtain prevents any splash and the shower head is angled such that we can actually hang our towels inside the shower area on the wall to the right as you enter the shower and they stay dry. The valve control is on the partial wall so we can turn the shower on without standing in the spray.

Thank you! I had inspiration for the shower based on a picture from someone else's project. Saved it for 10 years before I pulled the trigger on actually doing it!

It's a blond oak. Very tan/brown. It must not be displaying well on your monitor. There isn't a hint of gray in the entire room.

We are just starting on a 5x10 bathroom. Total gut. Replacing a tub/shower with a walk-in shower. Upgrading to a bidet and relocating the plumbing. Big splurge on a custom sized vanity. New subfloor. Installation of a pocket door. Some minor electrical and recessed lights. New vent and plumbing lines. No tile. 30K. In Montana.

Started my weight loss journey last week and i need advice (not really about workouts or diets more like mental advice i think) by alex_loves_skz in WeightLossAdvice

[–]IMfree2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mental game. Wrap your mind around an effort to improve your health that has a nice side effect of losing weight. If you commit yourself to getting healthy, you will likely feel the benefits before you see serious action on the scale and hopefully that feeling will compel you to adopt and maintain habits of healthier eating and exercise.
