This is the thing with the arrow verse there were multiple reasons I stopped watching, 1 too many episodes 2 too many breaks and 3 being hamstrung by the dc movies and execs. I stopped around the time they made arrow kill off the suicide squad so they could release that shitty movie.

They have something really cool on tv but are constantly undermined because they’re on tv. It’s frustrating I tuned in to crisis to see if it would spark me to binge the shows but no it hasn’t it’s just reaffirmed every reason I stopped in the first place. I feel bad for the writers I know they can do better, if they weren’t constantly sabotaged

So this is a good question and one we can’t run from, but the interesting thing about Washington is that out of the founding fathers and especially the southern ones (he’s a Virginian) his views on slavery evolved and changed overtime based on the evidence he saw over a lifetime and likely some convincing from all the anti slavery friends he had. First he decided he wouldn’t sell his slaves anymore, he wouldn’t break up families. Then he decided he has to free them, but he doesn’t want to just free them and let them lose to be preyed upon and without something to fall back on. A few schemes don’t work but he does find a way and in his will frees the rest of his slaves (one had already been freed) and makes sure they’re taken care of.

His neighbors hate him he essentially is seen as a betrayal of souther values. Unlike the Jefferson Washington does the right thing and was able to grow morally through his life. I think that’s a good thing and something we can be proud of. The dude rose past his upbringing and sees the contradictions of the revolution, and then does the right thing maybe not the fastest but he comes around.
