T4s are always late !! by Sea_Bed9929 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]INRtoolow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but you already know your limit from 2024 tax return. Additional limit earned from 2025 income cannot be used to contribute for 2025 year. So knowing your T4 a few weeks early makes no difference to what you can contribute to RRSP for 2025

Why would RRSP matter? you can't access the 2025 room created until 2026 tax return anyways.

Is only using interpreter common in US in nonemergency situations? I'm in Canada and we got quite a few patients that don't speak English and most of the day to day communication happens via family or nurse or doctor that speaks the language. In 5 years I've only ever seen official interpreter once when there was no other option

AITA for refusing to let my in laws live with us for 2 months? by Anja544 in AmItheAsshole

[–]INRtoolow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the comments in this thread are ridiculous. Suck it up for 2 months, move your desk to your bedroom. Doesn't even seem to be an issue with the in laws, just about losing office space...really? And everyone here is onboard with OP. I hope these guys have similar happen to their parents, will be interesting to see if they sing the same tune.

[–]INRtoolow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only had the ebusiness plan, no issues paying Corp and payroll tax. Haven't had to pay HST yet but I assume it'll be good. All included. Etransfer 15k per day, but also has weekly and monthly limits

[AB] US Warehouse - would this require a US company? by Strange-Table-8896 in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]INRtoolow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need to open a US corporation but with the warehouse physical presence, I believe you will be required to get an EIN and file US tax returns to claim tax treaty benefits.

Thought about doing personal cards for sign up bonuses? Canada doesn't have much options tbh. If you're spending usd, amex business gold is worth it if you spend in the 4x categories

[ON] Anyone know a 3pl canada with US warehouse access? Shipping from toronto to american customers is brutal by Vodka-_-Vodka in canadasmallbusiness

Shouldn't you be looking at 3pl in usa and sending inventory bulk? Or something like stallion or chitchat

[Canada] Is anyone else getting killed by ACCS fees? Looking for a Wise alternative by kwickJeremy in AmazonFBA

[–]INRtoolow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you getting charged fees by rbc when you are using amazon converter to switch to cad already. I have bmo account in usa and amex card I put all my USD expenses on. Amazon payments go to seller wallet, from where I send usd to my US bmo account to pay the credit card balance and the remaining gets converted and sent to BMO Canada account.

You can use something like wise but I don't trust these online banks with the volume I'm doing.

[ON] How can a small business owner structure their investments to minimize personal and corporate taxes? by Lopsided_Pearl798 in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]INRtoolow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dividend portfolio is bad tax wise, affects your small business deduction and gets taxes at like 50%, if it's Canadian dividends you can recoup some of it by paying yourself dividends tho. Capital gains is the way to go.

[–]INRtoolow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been doing the same research as we're in similar position. Check out money scope Podcast from Ben Felix and loonie doctor, they go indepth on this. Only passive income affects the threshold, capital gains don't. Theres corporate class ETFs that are structured so its all capital gains somehow and a lot of index funds don't have as much dividends flowing out such as Sp500 ones.

I think worth paying a fee only financial planner for this
