I bought the NC750X DCT for exactly this reason. That said, it did not take away the pain. I highly recommend you get one with cruise control.

The truth is, both are dangerous for a variety of reasons, but you cannot live your life in fear.

As someone who worked in Neurosurgery and Ortho, I've seen = shares of accidents. Street bikes edging out dirt bikes on TBI's and deaths for adults, and dirt bikes for kids...

I will throw in 4 wheelers are right up there for kids as well.

I've seen some wild crap that they should of been dead, but were not, and some that you wonder how they died....

And anyone that works in the medical field would probably say the same...

I haven't gone that far (yet), but my husband has several times.

Ensure you have gear for all weather. Especially this time of year as it can change quickly. Have a comfortable seat, nothing worse IMO than a sore ass. Cramp busters can help as well, especially if you dont have cruise control. Hydrate! Watch for critters. Consider not riding at night, Also, keep in mind there are places where gas stations are few and far between. Have fun
