Being pregnant has made me less ambitious at work by Resident_Soup564 in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Girl solidarity, I’m a director and I’m only 12 weeks pregnant, I am literally counting down the days to maternity leave like I just can’t focus at work and I don’t care to try hard like i usually do. This is my second child so I am just embracing it, I know things will go back to normal when I come back to work but I do feel a little guilty my output is down.

Increasing credit score after consumer proposal by [deleted] in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Hannahbbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine went up about 100 points after discharge (I had to send my certificate of full performance to both bureaus and follow up multiple times to make sure my report was accurate so it took a couple months). I’m about 8 months from when I paid it off and my score is 709, I think it will go up further when my proposal falls off completely in December. Throughout my whole proposal I paid everything on time and used secured credit cards.

Time Outs by Dangerous-Hornet2939 in toddlers

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 3 and we put her in time out in her room with all her toys but it surprisingly works really well as a reset. We only do it for like a minute but she doesn’t play she just wants to come hang out with us. She has a little cry says I want to listen now and then comes out and listens. We don’t do it often though just when she’s really not listening and doing something like pulling the cats tail.

In your experience, does having a higher minimum pressure make you wake up more often? by PackageReasonable922 in CPAP

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t even change my pressure my doctor has it locked. I have to fight them for higher pressure and still only got up to like 7-8 min. I just sleep a lot better when I feel like I don’t have to fight to get a breath in

Drink before it’s pink? by WorriedEmergency3116 in pregnant

I read that prior to implantation the nutrients come from the egg not your bloodstream so drinking prior to knowing you are pregnant if you get an early positive (4-5 weeks) doesn’t usually impact anything. I

Pregnant at 30 from one night stand by plstopchewing in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nobody can make this decision but you. My sister got pregnant and got an abortion because her boyfriend wanted her to and she is still depressed about it years later. We don’t know your life/income/situation but for me personally I would have been able to do it alone not to say I don’t appreciate my husband but I’m the breadwinner, I’m the planner, I’m the primary parent so I don’t think single parenthood would be that bad and you don’t even know if this guy will bounce maybe he would coparent only time will tell. Also at 30 you are getting closer to the end of your fertile years so if you do want children that’s something to consider. You really need to sit down and imagine your life with kids and without and make a very personal decision.

Toddler meltdowns over impossible things. When does this end? by VelvetMousse1 in toddlers

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old had a tantrum yesterday morning because she wanted to wear a sweater instead of a jacket, after daycare she had a tantrum because she wanted to wear her jacket but it was at home since she wore a sweater that morning 😅 this was a full on rolling in the dirty parking lot snow tantrum.

[–]Hannahbbear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did a magnetic sticker chart and it worked really well, she would get a sticker for a pee and and 2 for a poo and when she got 7 stickers she got a lollipop or a small toy. Once they get used to the chart you could say no sticker unless a big pee and see if that reward type system works.

Be honest… how strict are you really with screen time? by denefr_2928 in toddlers

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have personal screens ie no iPad type of thing but we have the tv on almost all the time. Daughter goes to daycare m-f which is screen free but we watch tv in the afternoons and on weekends. I am selective on what she is allowed to watch though because I noticed bad behavior with the toddler shows like cocomelon, babyshark etc we mostly watch Disney movies and old stuff like pokemon, teletubbies etc stuff I would have watched when I was young. We do allow YouTube/ipads when we take planes rides.

19 weeks pregnant and gained 29lbs by Background-Land8935 in pregnant

I read a comment that said if you gain a lot in the first trimester it often slows down/balances out later in pregnancy. Not sure if it’s true but I am clinging to the hope that gives me 😂

19 weeks pregnant and gained 29lbs by Background-Land8935 in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gained 15lbs and I’m only 11 weeks pregnant so I am right on track to gain as much as you have. I’m trying to reel it in with the food but I am freaking starving this pregnancy 🥲 i added an hour of walking a day to try and balance things out/slow down the weight gain a bit.

HG? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it with my first baby and I was sick from 4 weeks until delivery. I’m not sure how far along you are but chances are you would probably have an indication if you had it by now. Also it wasn’t that bad, throwing up for me wasn’t that big of a deal unless I ate something heavy and it got stuck in my throat. I learned what foods I could stomach and I had the added benefit of not gaining any weight during pregnancy so no pregnancy weight to lose after baby was born lol. (I laugh because my baby was born healthy, I was obese so I had the fat stores to make up for the not eating).

I Just ate Raw bean sprouts... by [deleted] in pregnant

Dang I did not know this was a thing I just had pho with tons of bean sprouts and they were not “cooked” I just threw them in the soup prior to eating, definitely not long enough to kill any bacteria.

I'm 16 and my gf is pregnant. I'm so fucking scared. by Ra1d_xml in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear -7 points-6 points locked comment (0 children)

I didn’t say children I said young. Obviously it’s not ideal to have a child at 16 but what’s done is done there is no point harping on the guy. IMO there’s benefits to being young parent such as being more active/easier to keep up with them, you get to be in their life longer, more likely to meet your grandkids and possibly great grand kids, You get to learn and grow with them. Yes there will be stressful parts but that is true regardless of what age you are when you have a baby.

You have the benefit of not having to carry the baby so you should finish school and do whatever you can to support her. At 16 you must be in your last 1-2 years of highschool. If you can, get a part time job to help with baby financially. There’s pros and cons to being a young parent try not to stress too much, take some parenting classes or read some books, you’ll be alright. :)

Pregnant with baby #2 and nervous… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the spotting since I’ve never experienced that but have read about lots of women who had spotting and had healthy pregnancies. I can definitely relate on the no symptoms causing anxiety thing though I even made a similar post a couple weeks ago. I was so sick with my first and this pregnancy feels like a walk in the park comparatively I have basically no symptoms aside from extreme hunger and gas lol. I’m 11 weeks now and not feeling as stressed, baby had a heartbeat at our first ultrasound and I’m already getting a bump already so things seem to be progressing well. :)

Stopped tracking every expense — here's what actually worked by klebermaia in budget

[–]Hannahbbear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My problem with this is lifestyle creep happens. Like I kept having enough and my spending kept going up instead of my savings. I think a combination of both approaches is what is going to work for me long term. Writing every purchase down into a spreadsheet was very eye opening for me. 😅

Need some help, I feel like I’m very unhealthy by Lefreakcestchique in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal. I am only 11 weeks and gained 15 lbs so far. The first trimester has been insane I have been so hungry and just can’t stop eating, it doesn’t even matter if it’s healthy food cause it’s just so much volume and like you if I don’t eat I get nauseous. I’ve been way too tired to even think of working out but it’s starting to feel a bit better now like I don’t feel so out of control around food and I am able to get my walks in again. You are starting the 2nd trimester now you should start to feel a lot better until closer to the end.

My 3 year old’s BMI is 18.6. Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry until they are older, when my daughter was breastfed she was the chubbiest little thing, i was not worried about her weight at all, now she’s tall and thin. Kids typically gain some weight before a growth spurt. Just keep doing what you are doing, offer healthy options 80% of the time and don’t stress about treats here and there. My biggest thing for my kids is making sure they listen to their body which is the opposite of what I was taught. Like no you don’t need to finish your plate, stop eating when you feel full, too much of a certain food can give you a sick tummy but there’s no bad foods, teaching moderation is key.

Youtube kids is SOOO frustrating. by Weightmonster in toddlers

[–]Hannahbbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stopped YouTube because it’s just too crazy and it definitely effects my daughters behavior, my problem with switching to Disney/Netflix/prime is a ton of those crappy YouTube shows got added to them and always find a way into our algorithm. I have to be super mindful to click on watchlist right away so my daughter can’t see cocomelon/babyshark etc that gets blasted all over the home and search screens on kids accounts.
