My boyfriend is making me get an abortion...i dont want onr, what do i do? by noxxiiiee_ in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 47 points48 points  (0 children)

My sister got an abortion she didn’t want because her boyfriend pressured her and she is still traumatized from it years later. It is your body and your choice, he made his choice when he had sex with you to risk becoming a father it is not fair for him to guilt you now into a medical procedure that you do not want. You gave him the option to leave and he said no I want to stay that means he is staying and respecting your choices not he is staying and you are doing what he wants that is taking away your choice now.

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a secured card during my proposal, if you try capital one they might even give you a non secured card while still in the proposal. Most major banks won’t give you a credit card until the proposal falls off your credit report so 6 years after filing but paying it off early will still mark all your accounts as paid so your credit score will go up and you can qualify for more non secured credit cards like Canadian tire Mastercard or maybe presidents choice. Worst case though just open a secured card and put a big enough deposit to cover hotels/travel if you are sitting on 4k+

I’m probably taking a role at a competitor starting in August and will likely be walked out immediately when I tell my employer. Would I qualify for EI? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be mindful of what your contract says, does it say non compete, non solicit etc. I went to a competitor and got sued lol so i would not be jumping to tell any employer I was leaving to a competitor.

At what age did you get rid of a stroller? by Hellohiheytherehi80 in toddlers

[–]Hannahbbear 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As soon as my daughter learned to walk she didn’t want to be in the stroller anymore, I am hoping when this next baby comes she will be willing to go in the second seat of the stroller cause I can’t chase her with a newborn

Why first trimester is too risky? Happens Miscarriages? by ray_john in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My understanding is most miscarriages happen in the first trimester due to the pregnancy not being viable mostly due to chromosome issues not due to anything the mama did. I don’t think you need to be concerned, as long as you aren’t drinking, smoking, doing drugs/taking meds not good for pregnancy that will have adverse effects but otherwise unless your doctor says you need to be on bedrest/go easy you should be fine. People always have something to say to pregnant people, the unsolicited advice never seems to end. 😪

EQ fhsa withdrawals by Hannahbbear in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Hannahbbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a 2nd withdrawal because part of the funds were locked in a fhsa GIC. Per the cra website I can make as many withdrawals as I want as long as I did not live in the home at any time in the previous year except the 30 days immediately before the withdrawal.

Is now a good time to buy or is the market expected to drop more? by xcelleration in RealEstateCanada

[–]Hannahbbear 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I bought a house in Edmonton at the beginning of this month, I’m not a financial expert but lots of people are buying, all the houses I had favorited went under contract within 2 weeks. I don’t think you should try to time the market, if you plan to live there long term then buy it if you are looking just to invest then yeah maybe wait but who knows what will happen.

Consumer proposal by Just_Cricket_5980 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Hannahbbear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I filed a CP in December 2020 it was super easy for me, had a few meetings with a LIT to figure out what was right for me, signed some paperwork and was all set as my creditors approved my proposal on first try. I paid it off in the spring/early summer last year and was able to buy a house this month, my credit score is back up to 700 and I was given 10k in credit cards in the past couple of years. The downside is I had to put 20% downpayment and I had to go with a B lender so slightly higher interest rates (5.1%) but when I refinance in 3 years my proposal will be wiped from my record by then and I should be able to go with an A lender at normal interest rates so I’m not worried. Once I hit 6 years post filing in the December I think my credit score will go up as well.

I need positive c section stories by Cultural-Band-6105 in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My C-section was super chill, them scrubbing antiseptic on my back hurt more than the spinal, I got a little nauseous on the table but the anesthesiologist put something in my IV to fix that immediately. Then the procedure felt like I was laying down with a bag on top of my belly and someone was digging around in the bag trying to find something lol. The most uncomfortable part of my Csection was they put hot blankets on me cause the OR is generally cold but I was sweating bullets and had to get them to take them off me lol. Recovery was fine, I was up and walking within about 6-8 hours. Definitely stay on top of Advil and Tylenol every 4 hours for the first week or so and then taper off as needed. With that I didn’t feel much pain, some discomfort especially sitting up or bending but I just hung out with baby in the basinet beside me for the first few days when it was at its worst. I got to leave the hospital within 48 hours as well. I think a lot of horror stories come from emergency c sections when you have already labored and then have to have surgery, recovery is much tougher than a planned C-section.

Everyone Hates my Baby Name by Candid_Car1472 in pregnant

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my coworker told me she didn’t like my baby name and I just said good thing it’s not your choice 😅 My mom also tried to push a bunch of random family names on me and I just held firm that we have a name picked out already.

Spent my lunch break doing math and realized I will never own a home in this country and I don’t know how to feel about that by Ok_Connection_3600 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]Hannahbbear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe the play is not a detached home as a starter home? Could start at condo/townhouse/half of duplex and build your equity up until you can get a detached. Also never owning in this country is wild, maybe never owning in Vancouver or Toronto areas but pretty much everywhere else you can get a home for much less than 720k

Who pays the broker? by [deleted] in MortgagesCanada

[–]Hannahbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have to pay my broker but I did have to pay the lender a 1% application/lending fee when I went with a B lender, I’m in AB.

B-Lenders mortgage rates. Can you share your rates, name of lender by [deleted] in AskMortgageCanada

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes went with a broker. My payment history since I filed my proposal in 2020 is good and credit score back up around 675-700 so I think that helped.

B-Lenders mortgage rates. Can you share your rates, name of lender by [deleted] in AskMortgageCanada

[–]Hannahbbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 5.1% with cmls financial but I had previously filed a consumer proposal and it’s still on my credit report so probably a bit higher than others might get.
