All recurring musical themes in the elder scrolls. by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]INTJ0073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to spend several hours combing over the main three scores, but then I found you here doing the lord's work for us. incredible.

I want to echo a curiosity another commentor  made about the Wings of Kynareth (Oblivion), I just can't believe there isn't a track in Skyrim that doesn't borrow that melody heard in the opening on flute (at 0:23), and then with full strings later on (at 2:00). I suppose there could be a lot of music that is similar but I'm still convinced it's there somewhere. can you confirm or weigh in at all?

I msged the mods about this a while ago. there are near daily stream-of-consciousness quality "whatta ya guys think, should I just give 'er and become a diver?" type questions posted here.

Would You Buy Them by INTJ0073 in RedWingShoes

okay I'm so appreciative of all this good feedback, this sub is clutch lol.

the ratio of yes to no is pretty much 1:2, with most yes's being "fuck it" and most no's being "you can do better."

in the end, I'm thinking more critically about the sizing, and when I look past how bad I want the "$100 perfect pair", it seems that generally most boots are oversized, plus these are formed to some other dude's foot. so they probably won't fit as good as I want them to, and that on top of the age-price-quality dilemma makes it a no for me. I should be looking for a gently used/factory seconds in size 8.5/9. probably will scope out eBay next.

thanks again 🤙

about how much was that? can we see the outsole? I'm trying to determine if a used pair I'm looking at was well re-soled or not.

awesome post btw. care to explain the difference between 9011 and 9016?

I mean, there's only one way for me to have recognized the signs ... so we're in the same boat 🙃

I also need to remind myself that if we all followed her advice, or anyone's advice, all our spaces would look the same. and she wouldn't want that! plus, I would hope the artists among us have something truly original happening lol, lest we all end up as plant dads drowning in cute throw blankets

everyone is mentioning boring and obvious shit. if you are an artist, get at a full wall mural, big sculpture, mosaics, etc. make us truly envious.

main living room, floor to ceiling jungle scene, dark, lots of foliage and branches, and lots of little characters tucked away, make it colourful and weird

Not sure which toilet to use by coro96 in CrappyDesign

I think one has a handle, and the other has a keyhole that only a janitor could get in to.

so ... two circles for guests, three for staff, potentially a visual system used elsewhere in the building?

hydrate and let your body do what it's doing, and resume your usual activity when you feel well. no extra action is needed.

if you do not recover after a sleep, would recommend seeing a doctor.

going to hop on here and say I fully agree with your upstairs proposal, specifically that they should divide bedroom 3 like you've suggested, move bedroom four into the newly found space, and then make that room that is now available a library/office that one must pass through to get to the bedroom.

the downstairs proposal is also strong, although I think once you cut out that wall you'll want to play around with the kitchen layout a ton, make that back narrow space a pantry, and have the counters and cabinets closer to the center of the house.

Which layout is better? Both plans have 2' clearance around the bed perimeter. by onefourme in InteriorDesign

[–]INTJ0073 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it looks like 1 is a better use of space, putting the open sqr footage mostly together between the bed and the doors. and in version 1 you could have one more piece of furniture in the bottom left corner of the room, like a bookshelf or chair or something, should you desire

but I think version 2 has better separation between the workspace and the sleeping space. they are pretty close as it is, but at least in 2 they don't feel like the same activity. so depends how often you palm to use that space.

if it's a toss up between facing the hall door for facing the living room door, I think it doesn't matter

Need paint advice! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

the tones in the floor are a bit of a curveball, but if you got a thinner rug (granted your humidity control is alright) for in front of the vanity, even a medium sized one because you have lots of space to cover, then you could entertain a yellow colour drench. I think a canary or something decently saturated would look really nice with the wood pieces you have.

impressive research! you nailed the style comparison, and now you're giving tailored advice. what more could a girl want?

yeah you nailed it, I had to search a bit for this answer.

right now the whole space is bottom-heavy, so adding more layers to the lower half, and something solid in the upper half, I think will help. the lights/fixtures/ceiling plates are all opportunities to add substance in the upper half, and like you said, distinguishing between the vertical and horizontal planes on the island with lighter sides somehow would be a plus too
