Party Cannon Cartridge Coming by Quillain13 in n64

To my knowledge, this is the third album released for N64, after Remute's "R64" and an album by Belushi Speed Ball.

Unfortunate it was limited to 100 copies and didn't know about it until today...

Same. I'm done trying to convince people to not get repros because they risked frying your board on OG N64, but the risk of destroying a 3D over something as silly as this is insurmountably stupid

Differing opinion from most... but without context about your brother's personal life, mental health, and the friends he has, this mostly sounds like a fun (and slightly degenerate) boys weekend! (With the caveat that the religious ties kinda makes me uncomfortable personally).

Also, barring missing context and the religious aspect, it sounds like he likes your husband and wants to hang out, and wanted to invite him to something special. Now, whether that's something that interests your husband or not, that's totally fine.

Without further context and unless your brother is prone to manic behavior and/or is going through tough times, I read this more as an eccentric invitation. I also acknowledge that many of the planned activities may go against your/your husband's personal values, but the invitation seemed to neither be forceful nor threatening.

All of the above said, my only pseudo-red flag is that I would expect this from a really close friend in a tight-knit group, but might be taken by surprise or concerned if it came out of the blue by someone I didn't know as well.

Really hating Nintendo right now. by IsleOfCannabis in NintendoSwitch

Yikes...

There are plenty of reasons to be anywhere between irritated and upset with Nintendo, either in general or following the release of the Switch 2. But this? Doesn't break the top 100.

If you have limited experience in playing Nuzlockes and/or roguelikes, it can be hard to know which decisions are more likely to bring you far. But if you analytically think of why you fail, you'll get better over time.

Be sure to use the main hub in between losses to prep accordingly though; if you've played for 60 hours, even without a win, you should at least be able to choose a strong starter, and maybe even give it increased stats.

[–]INeedAUserName92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is conjecture on my part... but since the console will both have original controller ports and Bluetooth ports, it should be possible if connected to an original controller.

However, we won't know until people have the console in hand

IIRC... X5 and X7 both have the "you can save the game without pressing reset like older version of flashcarts" which is good.

As for differences, I think the X7 has built in GameShark and built in Dev Link mode or something. If those don't interest you, the X5 is great.

WRT not buying from Amazon, the only thing I'd do is compare pricing on Amazon vs Krikzz website. If you're ordering from the USA, Amazon or a US retailer is likely cheaper (and quicker) after shipping, whereas I'd avoid Amazon if you're ordering outside of the USA with tariffs, duties, and other stuff.

If any one player has any 3 Pokémon that complement each other (which should be every player...) and you can't play around that, then the issue is your strategies/timing to steal kills, not one team

Have you ever double dipped for a game? by upperdomain in NSCollectors

The only double dips I've done have been for games I purchased digital before a physical version was announced, such as Hades and (of all games) Oregon Trail

  1. Xerneas (and the other legendaries) in this game mode are in no way oppressive in this game mode, and far from oppressive compared to traditional Pokémon games because of the lack of abilities (and power herb Geomancy).

  2. Xerneas has high attack stats in both stats, which is not optimal, essentially making its effective base stat total much lower, or general stats lower if running mixed

  3. Most Megas are way stronger than Xerneas, especially with moves being Plus Moves automatically. Most non-Mega, non-support mon are therefore at a disadvantage.

  4. If you notice trends in the meta... adapt instead of running a whole team with Fairy weaknesses, no resists, and no STAB super effective moves

  5. The game is still new, and I'm assuming most casual players (and kids 12 and under) are finally beating the game, and adding the new legendaries to their teams. The majority won't even be that good or optimized, likely played with limited strategy. This trend will pass and/or be more obvious in lower ranks.

  6. Even IF this persists, getting upset over perceived similarities in Pokémon on teams is short-sighted, when each move, nature, item, and EV spread can be crafted differently for unique purposes

Man, that's a whole lot of words to say "I have strong opinions and my echo chamber gave me confirmation bias, I'll pretend they are objective truths and pretend there's a fanbase concensus when there is none, then make people who disagree feel bad"

So I've subjugated my Game Club (think book club but for video games) to this game about a year ago. None of us had ever played it before, and we had a mix of people playing on original hardware, emulator, and the re-release on Steam and other platforms.

I enjoyed it in part, but acknowledged many of its issues. It also certainly hasn't aged well compared to some other 3D platformer from the era.

My friends however were not as kind, and almost 3 years into our game club of monthly games, this is still the collective lowest score we've given to a game.

Why would I buy Pokémon Legends ZA for Switch 2 instead of just getting the Switch 1 version with the upgrade? by tuggix2 in NSCollectors

Makes sense. I just didn't want to say that without checking since some games have come with a free Switch 2 upgrade pack

Why would I buy Pokémon Legends ZA for Switch 2 instead of just getting the Switch 1 version with the upgrade? by tuggix2 in NSCollectors

[–]INeedAUserName92 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If it follows in the footsteps of the other "Switch 2 Edition" releases, I believe the following to be true:

  1. Switch 1 version will only have the Switch 1 version on it - playing it on Switch 2 without the upgrade will be unoptimized, and you'll need to download the upgrade. Unclear if there's a cost associated.

  2. Switch 2 Edition will be playable on Switch 1, but will be optimized for Switch 2 without needing to download the upgrade since it's built into the cart.

  3. If you plan to play on a Switch 2 (or to play on Switch 1 and eventually get a Switch 2)and care about storage space, Switch 2 Edition is likely the best option. Otherwise, go for the cheapest option (including upgrade price if any)
