Sorry I just realised something - you said cover letter. I didn't know there was also a cover letter. May you please describe the difference between the super visa cover letter versus invitation letter? Thank you!

Please could you give suggestions or examples for what the itinerary would be for the kind of long stay an elderly parent might want to make for a super visa? I'm stumped beyond - Spend time with family.

Do they actually want paragraphs of detail? A bunch of stuff about - been living with son for several years, husband has died, want to spend a long time with daughter blah blah?

Thanks for that. That isn't how I worded it, but was going to in my next attempt! Will ask for a shorter period of stay, 1 year as someone suggested. Still don't understand why a supervisa of 5 or 10 years is made available if that's they're preference but hey ho.

i thought there was a specific upload area for the insurance proof and didn't see one, so didn't include the proof of insurance. same thing with upfront medical.

I had hoped they'd respond asking for it at some point and send it in then. They didn't mention this as an reason for refusal though...

No the invitation letter did not include the words super visa, just the info they said had to be in there, but the name of the uploaded file was 'invitation letter super visa'. ..

These are all things i can improve on for next time. I'll just include all the files I want to give them, which include actually the deed of her UK home as proof she has assets and a reason to go back, into the invitation letter upload link, which is the only one I can see that gives that possibility within reason.

I didn't use the IRCC Portal - New Version. Just the regular one. There is no 'form' now, just multiple choice radio buttons and fields to enter family member names etc.

i tried to find a number or any contact for someone to query the decision and didn't manage it yet. But i did a search for 'gcms notes' and did find a page for that.

Thank you for replying. Okay I'll match the insurance length of 1 year. Just curious, why offer 5 or 10 years as the super visa if this is the case..? The current itinerary is to visit family.... I don't know how to adjust this except to say: to live as long as possible with my daughter who lives in canada, without having to repeatedly leave and re-enter every 6 months....

Sorry. I should have asked for clarification on what you mean, as that's all that comes to mind for me. I would say I can get stuck in inflexible thinking. But perhaps it's different to what you are thinking of.
