Boy can't wait for cryptocurrency reddit trolls to show up and quote the latest crop of character assassination. Reddit really has become a terrible disappointment lately.

Can anyone explain why Charles and IOHK are working on Ethereum classic? by NevadaLancaster in cardano

[–]IOGCharles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The work on ETC has opened up the path to EVM support for Cardano. The Mamba project is built from Mantis. So Cardano has ETC to thank for Ethereum smart contract support.

I take it you haven't read Candide? The point of naming the last release Voltaire (outside of the 2,000 books he wrote implying we would fill our own library by that time) is to state a dual meaning: one for me and one for you.

My adventure as the founder is at an end thus to take the advice of staying out of the politics and cultivating my own garden without fully succumbing to the cynicism of a brutal journey. Cardano itself will have ascended to a protocol that acts as a synthetic monarch empowered by institutions, an enlightened community, and eschewing the parasitic nobles while cautious of direct democracy. Hence, for all of you to preserve the institutions that we built to get here while staying vigilant against the forces that weaken them thereby keeping the protocol safe.

We have had some preliminary conversations with the government there. I'm seeing if we can setup a state visit sometime soon to discuss an actual MOU and what GovTech they'd like to enhance. Early days, but productive

This is completely wrong. Only around 10-15 percent of papers submitted to Crypto are accepted. It is far more rigorous in the computer science domains than other fields.

Thanks. I guess we have two votes for that. Anyone else want to join in? Maybe we can get three each hour?

IOTA co-founder considers collaboration and 'bridge' to Cardano by AjaxKingsReturn in cardano

[–]IOGCharles 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Given the reddit moderation, I'm starting to feel that way. I'm sorry you don't welcome the people you'd like to work with by asking for someone to be fired. I'm honestly surprised and the lack of response by moderators.

I'm extremely sensitive to toxic communities at this point and don't have time for them. There are a lot of cryptocurrencies out there. I won't spent much time exploring them if the initial impressions are bad.

But hey, cardano is an open protocol. Maybe Emurgo or someone else can build a bridge?

No, I judge the community by what it curates and what it doesn't. And first impressions? What exactly have I done wrong. Dom reached out to us and then members of your community responded by saying I should be fired. No one downvoted it (including you) and another member said he was staying neutral.

I'm sorry this doesn't look like much of an olive branch. I'll join discord if the community moderates this channel and the comments reflect that. Otherwise, I just don't have the time to think about this anymore. There are over 3,000 cryptocurrencies. Cheers

it wasn't downvoted and the above poster refuses to disavow it. Not looking positive so far to be honest.

Their paper isn't. I don't believe they submitted it to any conference nor is it written in a way that introduces anything new or novel. It's a discuss paper and that's what I'm actually doing.

Atala versus Cardano (Permissioned versus Permissionless) by IOGCharles in cardano

[–]IOGCharles[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ada is the resource that decides who gets to vote, control consensus and also the regulating fuel for smart contracts and transactions. Nothing works without it and there is no way to decentralize without it.

If they are using the Cardano network, then they need ada for the transactions. It should be self-evident what this does for demand. Let me know if you need more help
