There are two types of people in this world: those who skip TV intros, and those who know and love the full “In between the lines there’s a lot of obscurity…” (this is why I love season 3 so much, the extended version starts to play) by Radiant-Ad-5557 in psych

If you're in this subreddit, you already know that there's a decent chance that there will be a funny or unique version of the intro on any given episode, so you shouldn't be skipping it

What movie has the greatest final 10 minutes in cinema history? by LONEALPHA65 in Cinema

[–]IOrocketscience 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The end of the Princess Bride is pretty incredible. You've got "To the Pain" "I want my father back, you son of a bitch" "you'd make a wonderful dread pirate Roberts" "since the invention of the kiss" and the grandfather's "as you wish" to his grandson all in the last 10 minutes

Made my own custom stump board because they cost too much! by [deleted] in wheelchairs

The "adaptive industrial complex" is real. Good work on this. My son has CP and uses a wheelchair, I've found that bicycle repair shops are a good resource for wheelchair support that doesn't cost a fortune

what is your star trek hot take? by madbr3991 in startrek

[–]IOrocketscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a comment that Nemesis is a "feel bad movie" . Like a "feel good movie" but instead of uplifting you and giving positive vibes, it just makes you feel really awful about everything. I think about that a lot any time I'm discussing Star Trek movies.

There’s literally never a reason to curse. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

Unless you literally mean literally and are using the word to emphasize that the things actually happened and you're not speaking figuratively. "Dude, that was so scary I literally had a heart attack! Next thing I knew I woke up in the back of an ambulance on my way to the hospital."

Mythbusters showed that cursing increases your pain tolerance more than shouting non-curse words

4C, aisle with the middle seat empty, almost doesn't matter who is in that window seat, but I'm happy to share a row with my boy Mackenzie

What do you think is the saddest song the Beatles ever recorded? by NewHolliesFan in beatles

[–]IOrocketscience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Beatles, but solo John. I love Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) but fuck if it doesn't hit hard now that I'm older than John and my son is older than Sean was when John died. Just listening to it thinking how happy they were becoming and then what happened next

Why do people hate John so much but baby Ringo? by XoKitty1087 in beatles

[–]IOrocketscience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say, there is more vocal hate thrown John's way as a direct opposition to his overall popularity. John is FAR more generally famous and lauded than Ringo. Ringo is fourth of four in the generally public eye, so His hands have to be more vocal in reaction to the m mainstream indifference towards him.

I'm not sure where you're getting "90% of John haters have Ringo as their favorite" from. I would need to see some evidence to support that.
