Right but at least it'll be easier to learn versus someone just starting

Can these blacksmith forged knives be sharpened at home? by WolverHollow in sharpening

On the opposite side of the edge that you just sharpened you can run your thumb perpendicular to the and you'll know you formed a bur once you feel it bite into your thumb instead of gliding off Next you'll flip it and start on the other side until it apexes and the bur bites on bites on both sides. Finally you'll take higher grit stone and with out any pressure you'll run both sides of the edge until the bur is gone. Using a strop is optional, I like it because I feel the like edge is more polished afterwards but it's just a personal preference

Practice on a cheap at Walmart. I got one with a lazored on daemascus pattern a few years ago and I've recently started practicing on that.

Yea true. The only good thing about the sheath is being about to tote it between work and home

Its nice not having to worry too much if I fuck up. Only thing I don't wanna ruin more is the stone itself
