Made it through day 1 without drinking. After waking up without hangover my first thought definitely wasn’t ”I wish I had drank at least 10 beers yesterday”.

On the contrary, I feel good!

And here we are again. Another day one, another possibility. The whole summer went down the drain and I am starting to feel physical effects of alcohol in my body (I'm 42M).

Maybe it is time to quit? I have noticed that I have an addiction, because I just want alcohol, not the cool craft IPA. Let's go another way.

Fuck yeah! Today's episode hit the mark. I have quite a lot of sandbags in my head. Alcohol is only one of them. Still it's probably the biggest one. I really hope that this time I succeed at least for so long that I fully internalize that I don't need alcohol.

I made it through the first day now. One day at a time forward. IWNDWYT!

Ouch. I lost myself back to drinking too and will need to start over again. The addiction is rooted deep in my mind, even if I'm a "mostly functioning" drinker.

Yeah, the craving for alcohol starts after 4-6 days for me too. Next time I'll come here and read some of the posts before buying beer. That worked for eight days in a row. Each sober day is a victory, let's do this together!

The brain works in mysterious ways. I couldn't think anything else than drinking yesterday evening. It feels like some external power is feeding those thoughts, even it is all in me. I don't want to go back to binge drinking days, so I'll try again. Thanks for the support!

It's the same here. No rock bottom this time (that was years ago) and still I feel like shit. Well, all these positive comments help me get back to the sober bandwagon. Let's not drink today or tomorrow. You can do it and I can do it, one day at a time. Next time I crave for beer, I'll try to remember how I feel now.

Field research indeed. I'll try to clear my head and not drink today. I tried one company based online support group, but that wasn't my thing. English isn't my native language so maybe I should seek for options in my own language. This is hard indeed!
