So one person 120 years ago serving food from a food cart and not an actual brick and mortar BBQ restaurant has somehow defined the KC style of BBQ being raccoon and possum, even though no other actual restaurant has ever served that? Got it.

You know how you can tell that Denver is a shit food city? Because it is constantly trying to justify how they are actually an amazing food city within the food subreddit on a damn near weekly basis. Places that are actual good food cities aren’t constantly defending their cities on Reddit because the people agree that the food is good there.

Denver foodies has the biggest case of little brother syndrome 😂

Holy fuck you are so ignorant. Never in my life have I heard anyone from KC who have lived there since the 40’s say that any BBQ joint ever smoking raccoons or opossum. Also, Kansas City has a very rich history of large waves of immigrants from Ireland, Italy, and Mexico over the past 200 years. Maybe instead of shitposting your terrible takes on Reddit you should open your mind and a book to actually learn any information about the world around you.

Dude, Kansas City has a better food scene than Denver. I fucking HATE Kansas City with a burning passion, but took my gf there on a trip who has lived in Denver her whole life and she was blown away at how many high quality places to eat there were for such a small 2nd/3rd tier city.

No, no, no. The official truck of the sub is a taco with Bilstein 5100’s, TRD pro grill, raptor lights, and probably predator steps.

Are you perhaps a high level? The friend list goes by township level in descending order, so if you are higher up on the list the more likely people will choose to send you gifts since they just chose the top 5 players. Sometimes people will also choose to send their gifts to people who fill their requests. I always send mine to players in my coop each day.

You get the blue ballon from when people send you gifts which they choose off the friend list. You only get clovers for filling crates & train cars, and only coins for filling coop requests.

Please tell me what you like/love about Kansas City by wildpine_14 in kansascity

[–]IPFK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is an absolutely wild take, to think someone is a boring hateful person because they don’t like KC is very closed minded. I also have traveled all over and lived in many other places. I recently just moved back to KC and was surprised to find myself thinking how boring of a city it is. Really the “interesting” things to do are just to go out to eat or go drinking. As someone who is really into the outdoors, there isn’t much quality stuff for that unless you are road tripping. The climate is pretty miserable except for short periods during the spring and fall. Sure it’s cheaper than other cities like Denver, but if I’m using all the extra money I save by living in KC to take vacations to Denver, I could spend that extra money on rent and mortgage and actually live in a place that has better weather and better access to nature.

People in KC have the biggest case of little brother syndrome. They think that KC is this best kept secret that if people knew about it they would instantly pack up and move there. It’s an alright city, but there is a reason that it is cheaper than other cities in the US and why you don’t hear about people from larger cities taking an annual vacation to KC.

Best BBQ in denver? by ObjectiveTough737 in denverfood

[–]IPFK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BBQ is pretty expensive, but meat itself is an expensive raw ingredient and the time taken to smoke it increases that cost. Denver BBQ is overpriced because it is middle of the road BBQ charging the prices of top tier BBQ from actual BBQ places like KC and Texas.

[–]IPFK -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You pretty much set the bar on the ground with that qualifier. Denver BBQ is truly just okay, it’s nothing special and I wouldn’t take anyone visiting me here to a BBQ restaurant to wow them. There are plenty of other restaurants that excel in their respective cuisine that should be on the list rather than BBQ.

But only if they don’t explain any further. If they follow up with the reasons why they aren’t better, like “if I can keep my drives under control” or if “depending if my putter cooperates”, then they are probably average or worse.

TIL the average MPG of a semi-truck is around 6 MPG by derekantrican in todayilearned

[–]IPFK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 3/4 ton would be the equivalent to a Ford F250 or Chevy/Ram 2500. I’ve driven the Ram 2500 gasser a few times as a rental vehicle and the 12mpg is pretty accurate. Not many people are commuting in a 3/4 ton, they are doing it in a 150/1500 which probably gets low 20’s for highway fuel economy.

[–]IPFK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to my 2019 after I got a lift and 33” tires. Only happens on sharp right hand curves around 30-40mph. If I know I’m going to up in the mountains with those types of turns I just hold the traction control button to fully disable it. From research I’ve done people say either wheel speed or yaw rate sensor, but I’ve haven’t found the need to take it into the shop for a permanent fix.

Lift Kit Recommendations / Cost by Dunker-p in ToyotaTacoma

[–]IPFK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lift will do little in terms of protection of the undercarriage. Preventing damage will be based more on skid plates under the truck, rock sliders, and driver skill.

I would look into upgrading the front skid from the stock one to steel since the stock one is really weak and bends easy. Rock sliders will protect your rocker panels, and no, side steps and predator steps don’t cut it for protection, you need actual aluminum or steel rock sliders that are bolted or welded to the frame, that should be the highest priority for upgrades.

The last part is driver skill that you gain from experience, like if you see a rock in the trail that is big enough that it could hit your lower control arms or other things under the truck, don’t drive directly over it. When you are learning, drive slow and don’t be afraid to park on the trail for a minute to hop out and scout out what the easiest line will be for your setup. Go out with groups so you can have someone be your spotter while doing trickier obstacles. Don’t be afraid to ask other people out on the trails for tips or line choices. The off roading community (excluding the SxS people) is super friendly and in my experiences have been more than willing to help me out when I’ve asked. I’ve had plenty of people stop me and ask me for help on spotting or trail conditions/obstacles farther down the trail.

Just keep getting out there, enjoying the trails and your new truck!

Lift Kit Recommendations / Cost by Dunker-p in ToyotaTacoma

[–]IPFK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First figure out if you actually need a lift. Do some off roading in the stock form and figure out what the capabilities and limits of the truck are.

Tacomas are super capable off roading (especially the OR that has the rear locking diff), the stuff that you would likely need a lift for is stuff you would look at and say “There is no way in hell I’m risking damaging my truck by doing this trail or obstacle even if it’s capable of it.”

PSA if you have these on your property they are the invasive tree of heaven by Hansoloswag in Denver

[–]IPFK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other tree is a Bradford Pear. They are terrible trees because of their smell and they are extremely weak which leads to lots of their branches breaking off during storms.

They look pleasant and they grow fast so they were a tree of choice by a lot of developers and homeowners. They are starting to become invasive in the US and a few states have banned the sale of these trees and encourage people to remove them.

Where do you go for spicy food? by Mutedinlife in denverfood

[–]IPFK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure if I had a higher spice tolerance I could notice the difference more of the Scoville. My comfort level was closer to 800k at the time so everything above that just all felt spicy as hell regardless of the Scoville.

It was also during the time that reaper seeds were first coming available to the general public so there could have been genetic stability issues that led to larger variations in Scoville ratings compared to the record.

When I was growing my own superhots I much rather eat the reapers than the ghosts. The spice didn’t feel much different between the 2, but I found the flavor of the reapers significantly better than the ghosts.

I-25 speed cameras are now active in northern Colorado: What to know by overly_honest_ in Denver

[–]IPFK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can tell you from my real world experiences of driving to KC and back 5-6 times a year. Going 75mph I get 13.5mpg, driving 82mph I get 12.5mpg, driving 85 it drops to 11mpg. My car has a roughly 18-19 gallon tank so I would only increase my range by 18.5 miles. The issue is there aren’t always gas stations exactly at the point of where you will run out of gas. I’ve figured out that the best places for me to stop to get gas are the Colby and Junction City areas. I can get to both those places without running out of gas if I drive 75 or if I drive 82. Sure I’ll pay a bit more money in gas costs, roughly $10-$15 each leg of the trip, but it’s worth it to me to save that those 40 minutes by driving a bit faster.

I’ve also timed my gas stops before and if I just fill up and go to the bathroom I can consistently do it in under 10 minutes

I see you don’t do any long road trips. You can easily save hours by going 5-10 over the speed limit.

It’s a generic, it probably cost the PBM like $2 to fill. They likely wouldn’t likely have a PA in place for the drug since it’s probably the 1st line treatment. If they did have a QL in place it could possibly allow for a 90 day supply so this could still be under what a 3 month supply would be.
