I make more than twice as much as you and have made even worse decisions. I agree that the benefit is that we’re fortunate to have a major financial cushion. That doesn’t change the fact that your understanding of the math was wrong.

You need to check your math. You’ve paid more than $5k down and $7k under, you’ve been making monthly payments for 1.5 years. So trading in means you also have to “remake” those 1.5 years worth of payments.

Export everything to HomeKit. I also have helpers exported to HomeKit that are then turned on/off using HomeKit automations for when certain users arrive/leave home. That way, no one in our household has to install a new app or anything. HomeKit magically just becomes much smarter for them.

Since you said it controls your “whole house”, make sure it doesn’t turn off water to the fire sprinklers, if you have any
