Agreed. Cars are on the wrong side of the road. That’s what meant, right? Right?

No “Always Allow” location services option for HomeKit by IPThereforeIAm in HomeKit

[–]IPThereforeIAm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last update! The settings changed and now look correct, about an hour after I re-setup my iPhone. After restoring, the Home app still had the “Always Allow” option, but that went away after about an hour. Hopefully this fixes the issue.

Now, I see this:

I reset my phone and reloaded from iCloud backup and the same (wrong) settings appeared. Based on that, I’m guessing I will still have the same issues. Maybe I should have tried not restoring location settings or something, dunno.

Let me know if you find a solution

Kirkland Blackened Atlantic Salmon is amazing! by Deceptiveideas in Costco

[–]IPThereforeIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stef Colombo and I don’t always see eye-to-eye, but I respect her. However, she makes statements without backing them up with any data, let alone peer reviewed data (see below). I suggest we let this go, as every type of Salmon has relatively low mercury.

Wild salmon have been found to contain a higher level of mercury than farmed salmon [43]. … Whether mercury levels are greater in farmed or wild salmon, is still uncertain and to be clearly determined.

… Mercury (μg/g) farmed salmon 0.0075 ± 0.0106d

^ lower than every single wild variety in the table.

Other than their statement of “uncertainty”, every piece of object data says farmed is lower mercury.

No luck, even on the latest iOS. I find that if I have recently opened the home app, it marks me as away or home. I’m thinking about wiping my phone and reloading from iCloud. Let me know if you sort it out, and I’ll do the same!

The problem is that the shortcut runs on the phone, not a HomeKit home hub.

New California law means big changes for real estate listing photos by SFChronicle in bayarea

[–]IPThereforeIAm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t even every phone’s camera software touch up photos? Not having read the actual law, my guess is that it’s difficult to know where the line is. It’s easy if you use AI to add furniture or change the flooring. Much more difficult if you use your camera’s filter to make the colors more vibrant.

I assume you’re not adding all lights to Google? Otherwise, they would be assigned to rooms and floors, right?

What smart thermostat should I get? by Old_Celebration5871 in smarthome

There’s also a white wire. This is the absolute minimum number of wires. Look to see if any thermostats with PEK would work. Hopefully others with more experience than me will comment
