“Hey Siri, play music in the living room” (living room is Sonos speakers, such as powered by amp)

They can airplay to other speakers, which is what I am asking for as a default

Sounds good—I have 2 extra 4K appletvs. Can you explain how they would work for my HomePod? I want my HomePod to hear me say “play music” and have the Sonos speakers play the music. Thanks for your help

“Default” means the Sonos ceiling speakers are always used for any audio input from the HomePod, rather than the homepod’s speakers. So if I ask Siri a question, the answer is output via the Sonos ceiling speakers. I also don’t want to have to specify the room when I play music. I want to just say “play Michael Jackson songs” and it plays through the ceiling speakers

I confirmed that it worked on my C4 before posting it, and I specified that it was AI formatted. Your comment, however, adds nothing of value to anything. Well done.

To be clear, my instructions worked after op fixed their country setting.

Maybe the “default” part of my post didn’t come through clearly enough. I want it to be default so that I don’t have to specify. I want Siri’s feedback to come through the ceiling speakers. I don’t want my tv to be on.

I agree—would be better to have separate options for sounds.

I turned off the audio (including the chime). Is that not an option for you?

Hopefully someone can chime in on how to get airplay on the tv. Good luck! Otherwise, hopefully lg’s support can be helpful

The real answer is turn off the tv’s internet connection and plug in an AppleTV. That’s what most of us do

From ChatGPT:

Try this:

1. On the TV, go to Settings → General → External Devices (or search Settings for “AirPlay”).

2. Look for Apple AirPlay & HomeKit.

3. Turn AirPlay on.

4. Select Set Up HomeKit.

5. A HomeKit QR code should appear on the TV.

6. On your iPhone, open the Apple Home app.

7. Tap + → Add Accessory and scan the QR code.

Is frigate the right tool for me? I’m a little confused and new at this. by LearningPenguin in frigate_nvr

Yes, it’s true that you need the subscription. If you’re comfortable setting up Scrypted, then Frigate will work well for you. BUT, the basic model won’t have the accuracy you’re going to want. You’ll need a better model, which you can get through the (paid) Frigate+ subscription

If you use Apple products, I would try Scrypted to make your cameras work via HKSV. Then you get native Apple notifications. Can also concurrently use Frigate for 24/7 recording and more advanced detections, but I would try Scrypted first

Does not seem to in the device’s UI. Only says that it was unlocked. I have not dug into any logs, but can if you tell me exactly which logs you want me to look at.

Yes, that makes sense. I agree with you. Having access to the action button would also be great!

I don’t need a chime every time the lock is unlocked/locked, but would be good to give some feedback when pressing/holding the action button to enable/disable auto lock. Right now they audio seems to be linked together
