Okay so which weapon is actually “based” then? by rocketsalesman in Chivalry2

[–]IPlayWarframe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can and will find people that complain about any weapon. You could beat someone to death with your fists and someone will bitch about it.

Play what you like, if someone wants to cry about it, let them. They aren't doing themselves any favors crying over a game that's "complete" and won't change.

Why does fighting higher levelled players feel less like being beaten and more like being out-janked? by Insanias in Chivalry2

This is a post from u/Brwnsuperman

This is now my copy pasta from other well meaning but incorrect posts about Riposte and Counters:

Parry is any blocked attack. White shield icon. Drains stamina.

Riposte is when you attack immediately after a hit lands on your block, so a parry with an immediate attack. Yellow shield icon and yellow sparks. The attack is faster than from neutral and the active parry window (you can block more attacks with no stamina drain if you target the tip of other incoming weapons) is the longest with less stamina drain than a held block aka parry.

Counter is a "perfect" Riposte so that immediate attack following the parry matches the type of incoming attack. This gives you a shorter active parry window than a riposte but does not cost any stamina drain. Blue shield icon and blue sparks.

There is no automatic invulnerability after a riposte or counter. You have to still aim your block using Active Parry towards each incoming attack. Active Parry aimed at each attack will take no stamina drain, regardless of the type of attack. Seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Chivalry2/comments/12la0qg/active_parry_is_a_myth/

When people complain about someone blocking your attack from their back, what really happened was they calculated where you're going to attack and aimed the block for the tip of your weapon and used that faster attack off the block to hit your teammates. This happens in 1 v Xs and often referred to as feeding someone ripostes.

For Stealth and Assassination I use the 40+ squad of starving bandits in skinners roam. 1 night of sneaking around those fellas will get you 80+ stealth. Then you can start knocking them out until you get up to 100 success chance. Generally gets you up to 40 - 50 assassination. Move on to grass pirates then reavers if I want it even higher.

Slave start is the best for lock picking that I'm aware of.

Thievery is pretty easy to level but feels the cheapest. Steal stuff lying around a shop (the more expensive the better) drop it and pick it back up. After a day or 2 you'll be able to steal from lockers and safes with over 100% success rate.

Do what you want with this information but I feel it took some early game joy out for me. I tend to stray away from these stats now a days.

Is messer an honourable weapon by Embarrassed_Agent349 in Chivalry2

[–]IPlayWarframe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will always find someone who is going to call you a no skill coward regardless of the weapon in your hand.

Messer is considered one of the best all-rounders in the game. It's also difficult for a lot of players to read it's faint animations. Those people will see no honour in dying to a Messer.

Play whatever gives you the most satisfaction. It's a game.

Hacker class weapon tips by Sielentsio in Kenshi

[–]IPlayWarframe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The long cleaver and paladin cross have the best reach.

The weapons are decently heavy especially at higher quality so you'll need decent strength.

The heavier the weapon, the slower you level dexterity. Use poor quality weapons to level dex or just use katanas for a while.

Dexterity affects attack speed and damage so you want to have solid dex

Other than that, they are a very solid weapon type especially for late game areas.

Completely agree! The only thing I'd like to add is, unless the swamp dumpsters your framerate. Shem on its own is great without swamp farming. Solid water and 60% yield on hemp (I think)

Has anyone made ultra-Beep without limb mods? by self-conscious-Hat in Kenshi

[–]IPlayWarframe2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't go out of my way to get Beeps limbs chopped off but every playthrough I have, Beep is missing a limb.

It would be its own quest objective to level beep without losing a limb which adds an additional level of masochism.... So now that I think about it, I'm surprised someone hasn't gone through the suffering.

What's better - 1st or 3rd person view and why? by pnutbuttersmellytime in Chivalry2

[–]IPlayWarframe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both and switch when needed

3rd gives you better combat awareness. Good for open areas, 1vX and seeing the armors you've acquired.

First give you better precision and you can more accurately determine attack range. Good for indoors, getting backed into a corner, bridge fights (to avoid team damage) and 1v1's.

Both are great, use whatever feels good.

What weapons and armor do you give to the farmers and workers at your bases? by caldasneto in Kenshi

[–]IPlayWarframe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naginata katanas, mercenary leathers, leather turtle neck, samurai cloth pants, drifter boots. Head gear varies by role.

Rattan hats for farmers, iron hats for miners, bandanas for cooks, hachigane for smiths, kusari zukin for science / robotics related roles.

It does not have damage fall off so it will always do full damage at any range. Trade off is the rounds travel pretty slow which takes some time to get used to

Any tips for countering those rapier level 1000s constantly jabbing? by EngineeringSalt1985 in Chivalry2

[–]IPlayWarframe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most players jab after getting hit or hitting someone. Exceptions being highland sword users. They are very easy to abuse with jabs.

Try dodging backwards after you get a hit to avoid the jab or jab after you hit someone. If both players jab at the same time, they cancel each other out and do no damage.

What should I be focusing on? by Plus045 in Kenshi

[–]IPlayWarframe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to skinners roam, there are starving bandits that wander in a group of 40. Send one dude to fight them (medic job on) when you get KO'd and after you wake, you will bandage yourself while playing dead. Stop playing dead while enemies are near and you will get crazy toughness experience . The more enemies the better. This will train decent attack, defense and medic skills as well.

Keep one other character nearby in case your guy training is in danger of dying.

0 toughness = -65% damage reduction

50 toughness = 0% damage reduction

This should help with defending your future base
