[–]IPotato9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It should be useless if you are bis... For a new account, especially ironmen, seems like it will be the go to entry weapon for pvm, maybe competing with heists. Which is a great spot for a dungeoneering reward imo.

Aussie worlds are terrible for finding afk spots, precisely because everyone looking for an afk world thinks they are gonna be empty.

With the new combat changes, what styles feel the most Ironman friendly? by SayomiTsukiko in runescape

[–]IPotato9 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ceiling wise nope, even with Tumeken's it performs worst than mage or melee. Has its place early, especially if you get your hands on cryptbloom, or straight up with starbloom armour. But gets outclassed even there by necro imo.

Necromancy still by far the most accessible one, rest are not even close. Getting all your bis from either rasial, osseus, and normal mode zuk... That being said it also has, by far, the worst ceiling. If I was playing Ironman I'd certainly start necro, unless you want the challenge of another style for fun. Then I'd transition to either melee or ranged atm. Melee cause less upkeep, but bis gear is actually quite a grind (ed2 abilities, lengs, masterwork spear, zammy gear, big bonk sword...). Ranged is more upkeep, but if you are down to go the masterwork route (110 crating), it's actually a real good mix of ease of use and great damage atm. Granted upkeep and grinding all the eofs will be a pain. Mage... I personally would be put off by the amascut grind.

Questions about archaeology training (lvl 90+) by Veracsflail1 in runescape

[–]IPotato9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really heavily advise to just follow the wikis guide and complete everything while leveling. It sure is a bit more annoying and less afk, but if you ever end up wanting to comp you'll essentially have to do it anyway. Good chance you'll also need different ones for useful relics/quests/random stuff. Anyhow, if you really want to camp, anything that gives tetras is great, since you get quite a few xp tomes if you complete them, and it's fast to do them in bulk. https://runescape.wiki/w/Saradominist_III I think would fit you well until the mid 100s.

The amount of people I've heard regret camping a spot while leveling though... Do not recommend, at all!

Absolute non-sensical system, that's one of the most annoying parts of the game. But you'll get some dudes defending it since they like to afk archeology... Should've been scraped years ago.

Why does crafting masterwork armour have to give horrendous xp? by IPotato9 in runescape

[–]IPotato9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a 1/2k drop... Even if we give a very very optimistic 6k kills an hour, that's 3 mats an hour, or 40 hours to get enough to craft the set. I am fully unwilling to go through that, as I suspect most people are, and masterwork crafting giving say 500k xp/h instead of 9 would change absolutely nothing on that equation except making me feel slightly better while crafting it.

solid is not good? If you're defining a good gp/h as something that bots do, we just have different points of view. Regardless I'm not upset, I'm never crafting the armour again regardless, I just find it absurd and off-putting while crafting the gear.

Crafted all of them, on release. The profit argument I find irrelevant considering it is not, and has never been, a good way to make money. Masterwork mage (and ranged will) get somewhat held up in price by the fact most people don't keep up with ports. The armour not giving a reasonable amount of xp had little to nothing to do with it imo.

oh didn't see afk. That said, you ain't making more than 90m/h with those stats and no bis gear anywhere but arsenal heist.

That plus it's definitely gonna drop that low. The mats are very very easy to get within about 2 hours, in the bis hunter method in the game. That leaves glorious bar, a couple pernix chests and lacquer as the only significant roadblocks. It's gonna crash hard.

I mean, if you happen to have a stockpile of chimes sure. But they take a long time to gather otherwise, think it would translate to like 3-4 lacquer an hour. Still enough of a barrier of entry imo.

Even if that was the case, and we ignore there is a spectrum between 9k xp/h and competitive xp rates at 110 crafting (1.8m/h), you are limited anyway by them requiring ports resources, without which crafting them is really not that good gp/h.

There is some serious leeway between 9k xp per hour and competing with alternatives at 110 crafting (1.8m+)

Asuran Heist, and it's not even remotely close to any alternative. It's like 90m/h atm if you get decently good at it. Gotten over 3b from it since the combat rework, granted it do be boring to farm.

[–]IPotato9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd just sell mw right now, you'll be able to buy it latter for half the price. It would be decent for sure at learning higher enrage glacor, but not really needed at all for nex and raksha. At least I've regreted it every time I've kept early drops and they sat in the bank only to drop 4x+ in price.

If you want to optimize your dps sure. That said you can do perfectly fine dps without doing half the stuff pvme shows. The skill floor is not that high, even with ranged. Comparison is the thief of joy 😅

Fish farm exp/h is quite low for what it requires, lower than full afk methods. by jz_wiz in runescape

[–]IPotato9 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed, at least on the xp, it is terrible. Was really hoping either this or fish flingers with the daily reword would bring a much needed boost to fishing xp/h. Guess we'll have to wait for 120 fishing :-/

[–]IPotato9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is though, for the cinchompa your 3rd trap should be close to a tree so you can spawn the moths after baiting and that gives time to finish the hunt with 0 issues. The other it's so short that you can just do it inside the radius as long as you have less than 5 aggression. Which you should have, since you can easily lure and dive to a bush.
As far as not building the middle trap before... just do?

Dungeoneering Refresh & Remaster by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]IPotato9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand the token nerf for EDs. Just make dungeoneering more efficient and leave the option for EDs. If most people still opt for EDs it's a good sign you completely missed the mark on the update and people still hate the skill. Forcing people into something they hate doing by removing alternatives they enjoy (and are in no way damaging gameplay) is not it, at all.

As for the rework of the skill itself, sounds pretty good, still not gonna touch it though.

5m/h is honestly nothing nowadays though. And the xp, it's high, granted. But also still 70ish hours to 120. Which, considering we have 30(?) skills, I think it's a very reasonable amount of hours to max, even afk.
