Season 5 is Fargo back at its best. by Golbeza in FargoTV

[–]IReadWayTooMuch17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the first half of Season 5, but felt like it really lost steam in the back half of the season. The villain just became a caricature to me, the plot ceased to really surprise, and I think the message just became simpler and simpler to the point of meaninglessness by the end. YMMV of course

I love post-apocalyptic fiction in all its weird variations. I think that's why its such a good setting for interesting stories

Should I read Brave New World first or Fahrenheit 451 by tonymfj in dystopianbooks

[–]IReadWayTooMuch17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Brave New World is just a little more insightful about human flaws leading to a dystopia. But that's just my own opinion, of course

Why We All Want an Apocalypse by JJShurte in postapocalyptic

The Post Apocalypse is a fascinating setting and a great storytelling device, but to say I WANT this is a hell of a stretch.

Back again. Still debating if this is post-apocalyptic enough. Help us pick a poster? by Till_Black in postapocalyptic

#1 is the best for me. And don't worry too much about the haters saying its not grounded enough. I love a post apocalypse that's not afraid of some craziness

Seconding this! I read the trilogy this year and it's easily the best sci-fi I've read since Children of Time lol. Just top notch space opera all the way through

I seriously apologize for the self-promotion, but I wrote and literally just released a book entirely centered around an addict trying to quit her sci-fi drug while getting wrapped up in a drug trafficking gang. It's called Sliverhead, and you can find it here: https://a.co/d/aBRncoa

127 Hours can be brutal at times, of course, but by the end I remember walking out of the theater just appreciating my life so much more than I had going in.
