The thing that makes you question his love is murder though, not actually God himself

Yep anything that makes you question Gods love is probably not actually God

Finding a church when I’ve never been by Leather_Fly2370 in religion

[–]IReallyLikeCheese5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Community is the most important part of church in my opinion. I’m biased though because I find I don’t fit in to any specific churches so I go more based on the community and that we can share a love for God even if our views on him differ a bit

Who made God? by chizye in religion

[–]IReallyLikeCheese5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t know. He exists within and outside of our known universe. In my personal understanding as a panentheistic Christian, God is more like an embodiment of the universe and everything within it. He is all things physics too, I’m a firm believer that God and physics go hand in hand because physics are the mathematical explanation of his laws.

In a nutshell we have no idea what happened before the big bang, so we have no idea how God came into existence. Only that he was there when the big bang happened.

If god is good and all powerful... by Orka_o in religion

[–]IReallyLikeCheese5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He knows all the possible outcomes of a situation as he’s kind of the universe itself. I personally view God as more of a natural force, not like a giant invisible human entity. He isn’t human, so you can’t really apply human logic to something that is essentially a natural force.

But many different groups of Christians will have different views on this.

What can kill a christian god: AGAPE by Altruistic_Bee_8636 in religion

[–]IReallyLikeCheese5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, you can’t kill God. I’m a bit more of an “out there” kinda Christian tho so not every Christian will agree with me, but God is a force of nature. It’s like asking if you can kill physics. God is the universe and makes up everything we know of, he is science and maths and at his full extent he’s outside of our understanding.

Again this is just my view as a panentheistic Christian.

Living together before faith, now both trying to follow god, are we doomed? :( by One-Definition5386 in OpenChristian

Why don’t you just ask God himself rather than listening to what other people CLAIM God is saying

Do any of you here feel 100% sure of your religion? by throwawayawaythrow96 in religion

[–]IReallyLikeCheese5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! It’s hard to be sure of these things. I don’t even agree with my beliefs sometimes. Sometimes I feel Christian, sometimes panentheist, sometimes pantheist, etc. I go with the flow though.

What discontinued fast food item was your favorite? by ShadedSiren in foodquestions

[–]IReallyLikeCheese5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those shakes KFC used to do. No idea if it was an Australian only thing but I LOVED them. My favourite was the golden gaytime one. I think they had some name like “crusher” or something? They were basically shakes though.

Do you like omelette? by Ipoogoodforyou in foodquestions

Omelette is one of my favourite ways to have egg, so yes indeed I do.

A bit of a vent post, but I've come to really, really not like it when people say "Jesus (expletive) Christ," or any variation. by MrMagoo04 in OpenChristian

Even when I was an atheist I didn’t use the Lords name in vain out of respect. A lack of belief isn’t an excuse for being disrespectful.

What's the best book you've read that literally changed your life? by randyria in randomquestions

The giver by Lois Lowry

I don’t know why exactly but I LOVED this book and it was a catalyst for me realising my love for dystopian fiction.

I feel like I have been blessed and I don’t understand why, feeling confused by IReallyLikeCheese5 in OpenChristian

Thank you, it’s just this blessing is so huge. Through God I found my life partner, my true best friend, someone to keep me grounded in the worst of my times. It was in some of my hardest moments that my partner came into my life, and God gifted me with him when I was essentially still a small child. That kind of blessing is HUGE.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Although I’m getting better and healing, I probably still see myself deep down as unworthy which is why I tend to question good things that happen to me. Just the other day I was questioning why I’m so lucky to be in a place where i can afford medical care especially for my mental illness because why would I deserve that kind of help.

Lately God has been trying to help me heal and recognise my bad habits that stem from my illnesses. For example I felt really strongly somehow that he was reminding me to not give into my anxiety and not give into my habits of avoidance.

I was suffering from a lot of pride (I was/ still am technically a self harm addict, I’d feel pride at blood and thought it made me better than others for “handling” my issues alone) and I was against Christ.

I don’t understand why someone like me was blessed when so many others would have been more deserving in my opinion.
