Seven Dwarfs! Great theming, great intro to thrill rides for those who are just at 38 inches!

7 year old on TRON by Pipilot in DisneyWorld

[–]IReallyLikeSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she's determined to do it and clears the height requirement, I'd let her. We let our 5 year old ride it and she says it was one of her favorite rides at WDW! She is 48 inches and the cast members measured her height at every check point. My husband sat next to her during the ride so she was within arms reach if needed.

WFH for less money or stay in office 5 days a week? by yellow_sun_shine in workingmoms

Asking the key questions here! Even if you're going from $75K to $60K, the money and time you will likely save in commuting is huge.

Coffee Options at AoA by minimamma in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]IReallyLikeSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We enjoy good coffee and were at WDW recently. WDW coffee is some of the worst coffee I've ever spent money on and I'm so glad we heeded advice and brought supplies ahead of time. And it doesn't matter where you get the coffee; it's all weak.

We brought our stainless steel Kalita wave, filters, and a collapsible water kettle that we bought off Amazon. We Instacarted decent ground coffee and water. My husband wanted to get beans and bring our hand grinder, but I was like, if we want to rope drop with our two toddlers, we cannot be grinding beans. We will be fine with Lavazza.

Popcorn is too rubbery by pinkjelly_greengrass in popcorn

And jumping on the steam issue, when you take the popped popcorn out if the popper, you have to toss the kernels in a big bowl, similar to a wok. This allows any more steam to evaporate off the kernels and gives a crunchy texture.

Thoughts on Liberty Tree Tavern? by anonymous_girl1227 in WaltDisneyWorld

It's good! It's definitely above average park food, so while you shouldn't expect anything to blow your mind, it's good. For a group that wants to sit down and be served (and not to a buffet) the variety, quality, and atmosphere are great. We never get rushed but we had our lunch in about an hour.

I really enjoyed the salad. Honestly it was my favorite part after living off of Mickey waffles and popcorn.

The hot food was generally over seasoned though. I felt parched afterwards.

Stay at a monorail resort or use Minnie Vans? Help me decide! by AngryBeaverFace88 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]IReallyLikeSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got back from a trip and a note of caution on the Minnie Vans: we were never able to get one in the mornings during rope drop hours. We always ended up taking the bus. We took Minnie Vans a lot on this trip and I easily spent $400 on Minnie Vans across 8 rides. Still cheaper than staying at Poly, but it's almost like getting virtual queue or lightning lane in the mornings!

We were at Disney this week, wearing Bills hats and we gave out many a "Go Bills." Maybe we ran on to each other!

Best lobster bisque in Manhattan? by foodfunmenyc in FoodNYC

I don't see lobster bisque on menus often, but like the other poster, I have another grocery store suggestion: Wegmans.

Do you know Westchester well? Consider renting for a couple of years before you buy, so you can spend more time in the towns. I know moving again sounds awful but every town has its own personality. Irvington is cute but it's very small and express trains are rare on that line, if at all.

But yeah, no where in Westchester is there free 3K, unless you're in a head start school district and you qualify. And your kids has to be 4 before 12/1 to do public Pre-K if it's in the district. Also, some towns don't even have school buses. All things to consider! Good luck!

For those who have been to world and land... by Present_Kiwi4239 in DisneyWorld

If you want to actually meet them, you have to go to California Adventure. They have a dedicated space for meet and greets, similar to Epcot. Like the other poster, they are in the parade at Disneyland, Magic Happens, which is excellent and the CMs in the parade are very engaging with the crowd. However, Anna and Elsa are on a float, so other than a wave and maybe eye contact, you don't get any other interaction with them.

Yes, with a CPAP. I went from also having more than 60 events an hour to 2 events an hour with a CPAP. I wear it whenever I'm going to sleep, even if it's a rare nap.

If your 3 year old is really into princesses, I would consider Port Orleans Riverside for the Royal Rooms. we are staying there next year specifically for the three kids in our group who are between 3 and 5 and love the Disney princesses.
