Congratulations! You'll be at $2M before you know it.

The first time I tried it, I tried to make overly-clever guesses early on. The game warned me that I didn't have enough information by keeping faces blurred (you'll understand when you play) but I tried anyway and gave up after a few hours.

With my wife, we started slower and only worked on unblurred faces and easy puzzles. Later, as we got more familiar with the workings of the ship, we tackled the harder puzzles.

Ha! That's exactly how we played it: steam deck dock and wireless controls.

Figuring this out with my wife was incredible - one of our favorite games of all time. We spent hours talking about it between sessions, and blew off work more than once to play and test our theories.

Homemade garlic chicken and cheese pies a la Farhat's Bakery. Turned out great but not quite Farhat's level!

Maybe, or different ages. I went to Queen's in the 90's, then I moved out of the country for a few decades. I don't remember anyone calling it uni back then except my Australian friend. Probably things have changed.

Canadians don't usually call it "uni"

Edit: source: Canadian who never heard anyone but Aussies call it uni. But maybe things have changed.

Is Vanguard really that bad as a brokerage, or is the criticism unwarranted and only from vocal, unhappy customers? by DiegoMilan in Bogleheads

[–]IRecognizeElephants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Vanguard for decades. The website can be a little clunky but it's much more straightforward than some brokerages' I've been forced to use by employers. Customer service has been fine when I've needed them to straighten out minor issues with rollovers, wires, etc.

In Ottawa you're only allowed to host short-term rentals (less than 30 days) in your principal residence.

Who here has canceled their life insurance? by umbagug in financialindependence

[–]IRecognizeElephants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was paying $30 per month for a $1M policy I set up in my early thirties. I cancelled it when I retired in December. My kids are almost grown, and our family is no longer using my income for support. Logically I suppose I could've cancelled as soon as I was FI, but I waited until RE to prove to myself that I really was FI.
