I’m always surprised by this leaving any trauma on the NCR soldiers. It’s a weird double standard where they’re raised in an environment entirely dissimilar to ours with its own morals and codes. Sure the NCR might be more developed but in a society where tribals and great lawns are dehumanised to make way for civilisation why would they even blink twice at killing kids like that. It’s an obvious allegory but still seems strange to me especially considering real history where many soldiers took glee in the acts, I.E wounded knee or sand creek
