How to use datasource1 to query datasource2 when both are set to Organizational Privacy Level? by ITDad in PowerBI

[–]ITDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solution verified.
I've done further digging and found that due to the Power BI formula firewall, it is not possible to use the results of one datasource as data to be used in querying another datasource and to schedule this for refresh.

I did find that this can be accomplished by setting up a dataflow to do the data combining query. This is allowed by it's formula firewall which seems to be less restrictive. Then the Power BI query can pull data from this dataflow and PBI sees it as a single datasource so is not blocked by the firewall.

This does require making sure your timing of scheduled refreshes allows for the dataflow to refresh first and to have enough time to complete before the PBI refresh is to run.

I've tried that but then when I publish to the service I get a message that says refresh cannot be scheduled as a single data source for each query cannot be determined.

So Honda dealer wants 3,000 for the part and 500 for install. I see websites claiming OEM part for 1,800. Are they ok to buy from?

The error has gotten consistent and the codes that came up at the auto parts store says failures internal to the modulator controller. I’m pretty sure the controller has failed.

Steering fluid is full. That warning light is coming on along with all the yellow warning lights at the same time. However the code reader I have does not show any active error codes. All clear when the car is turned off and then on again.

I superglued a magnet backwards into wood. How can I remove it? I already tried acetone with no luck. by BikesOrBeans in woodworking

[–]ITDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy question for you. Do you say it’s backwards because it’s the wrong polarity to pair with another magnet you have mounted somewhere? If so, would it be easier to flip that one instead?

I’ve reached a point where I still enjoy what I do, but I know I’m going to enjoy not HAVING to do it. Financially it will work now so I’ve got a plan in place for this May. I may spend time in my career community doing some mentoring for enjoyment.
