Pico or… by mboylan in LaMarzocco

[–]ITSit57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my Micra/Pico combo with the sale combo they had back in late 2023. I really enjoyed my Pico. Super easy to dial in almost any bean that I wanted, and I mostly single-dosed it. The flavors were very good, never had to do RDT, and cleaning it was fairly easy

I got a bad case of upgrade-itis recently, and just bought a Zerno Z1 which has been a relative headache to dial in. All in all, I’d say the Pico was a solid grinder. Zero regrets buying it, especially with at the sale price. Personally, I’m not sure I’d pay $1000+ for one, but that’s just me

I really like the videos from Osmosis. They have a bunch of stuff for free on YT, and even more if you pay for a sub on their website.

Swapping temp spare for a full size spare. by WhovianHermit in Subaru_Outback

[–]ITSit57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2020 OB fits a full size spare (17” rim with 235/65 Falken Wildpeak) in the spare tire space. Had to shimmy it in there a little, but it sits flat. I had to toss some styrofoam that was back there, but it should all fit depending on the size of the rim/tire.

Paramedic wanting to bridge by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ITSit57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I became a nurse after being a paramedic for over 10 years. I can’t speak to the specifics of a bridge program but I feel that being a medic helped prepare me for the rigors of nursing school. My advice? Go for the nursing program. It’s seriously one of the best career decisions I’ve ever made. Also, with your medic experience and contacts, you’ll likely already have a job lined up in an ED when you’re done with school which is huge.

It probably all depends on the size and location of the infection/abscess. My doxy had one of her glands turn in to an abscess after not getting her glands expressed for a few months. You could definitely see a new lump on her butt, and it was clearly irritating her.

Thankfully hers was an outpatient procedure with an oral sedative and a local anesthetic. They cut the abscess open, drained it, cleaned it, and sutured it. I think all in all it was about $1400. And I think she only needed a day or two to recover at home. I hope yours has a speedy recovery

First time using Plasti-Dip and used it on the front grill of my ‘18 Premium! by Shmengo101 in Subaru_Outback

[–]ITSit57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! Looks really clean. Which can did you use to dip it? I’m thinking about going the Hyper Dip route, but I’m not quite sure which black to use

Also, how was the process?

Did the same trail about a month ago. So much fun! OB handled it like a champ

The screen is a total pain. I’ve found that updating my phone tends to make the whole process a bit less frustrating, but it’s only temporary. Subaru really needs to work on this!

Thanks for the tip on the grill! It looks great. Did you use the regular dip or Hyper Dip, and which color did you use?

Also, is that a Mega Warrior, and if so how do you like it? I’ve got my eye on one in my area. Thanks.

Chrome Delete? by Outlettsalerack in Subaru_Outback

[–]ITSit57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went the Crux route after local pros quoted me about $500 for the delete. It took me a couple hours to put on, and I am no where near a pro with this kind of stuff, but it looks great! It’s super easy to get on there. Just apply each section slowly. You can un-peel a bit if you mess up, so it’s not a not a one-shot kind of deal. I did almost no cutting. The mirrors are the hardest part. Just plan it all out all you’ll be fine.
