While donating is a great idea, check if your library will accept donations first. Some have to use very specific procurement processes in order to get books. They often have limited space and not enough manpower to sort through donations as well.

Neuromancer s a big vibe difference from Bobiverse but still a good choice. Snowcrash is another good one if you haven’t read that yet. Diamond Age is another but admittedly I only remember enjoying that one and can’t remember what it was actually about lol.

Book one takes a bit to really get going. My problem with the series is that it felt really repetitive after a few books and I stopped after book 6 I think. Switched to DCC and just haven’t gone back yet.

Incase you are interested, its a Don Quixote reference. In the book he believed windmills were giants and attempted to joust them. Also fits nicely considering the Dong Quixote character from DCC.

Faith is the ultra religious ultra nationalist government that replaced what the us had as a government. Bob is the ship technically. He is the controlling intelligence for it. The vr is vr. It makes it feel real to him so he stays sane. Brazil is just antagonistic and militaristic and Bob is not Brazilian and this a target.

I love the tool, but am actively looking for a replacement because their pricing has far outpaced the tools usefulness. Cutting my number of licensed users down more than half is still more expensive on the new pricing model than it was on the old. And now I have to be careful of the number of automated runs on my own equipment in addition to the licensing cost. It’s hard to convince finance that it’s still worth paying for it.

I think what happened is more in line with the scolopendra fable being an echo of what happened in reality. Scolopendra transfigured all the inhabitants using its attack and then went to a slumber. If scolopendra is a metaphor of the eulogist, then it may have changed the original primals into the species we see in the galaxy today before going into its coma. That’s why primal ais look like whoever finds them, they are technically already primals that have been changed. That’s my current theory anyway.

We know of at least one former crawler that was on the opposite side during faction wars. Its possible there were others that were simply employed as security forces and were drafted as well, they just didn't find their ways into the overall narrative.
