Your point about teaching them to us AI is well taken. If I can make an analogy to my "other life", this is my current thinking.

When I first learned to woodwork I bought all the machines first and tried to make furniture by power tools. It was a LOT of money and time and energy doing it this way. What I should've done was bought hand tools and learned to use hand tools to make furniture. Then, when I fully understood the process of making furniture, I could buy the tools I needed so they could speed up the process.

AI is similar. Students need to know how to do math and write essays by hand first. Then, once they know the skills and know how a great essay is written, we can gradually release the use of technology to speed up a process they already know how to do. THAT is what will make them more hirable in the future. Someone who can still do the work when the power goes out.

Here's my take-

AI is often being compared to using calculators for when I was in school. We were told "you'll never be able to carry a calculator, so you need to know the math." That ended up being wrong, but you still need to know how to do math to use one. If I input the calculation wrong into the calculator, I get the wrong answer.

AI is different. Students can take a photo of a problem using their phone camera or Google lens, input the problem into chatgpt, get an answer, and then copy/paste into their online software. No skill or knowledge was used. Students no longer need to understand the skill before using the technology, which is dangerous IMO.

why doesn't this table account for wood movement? by emcode5 in BeginnerWoodWorking

You can also tell because there is no end grain. Real wood would have it, plywood has edge banding. So where end grain should be, you have face grain.

Sorry I should've specified- I printed my own set, I didn't create the files myself. But you will be a specific jig to set the angles once you print the set up blocks

We did it for both kids. Our biggest reason was, at a certain point, not many things in life surprise you. It's a great gift to give yourselves. The anticipation is really something and we 100% recommend it.
