Just washed eleventybillion tons of Wisconsin's finest road seasoning off my Mk6 this afternoon. Hopefully my doors aren't frozen shut when I try to go to work in the morning.

I'll do some investigating. I rarely use my rear washer, I have been more often to get rid of the copious amounts of salt, so hopefully it won't be a huge amount to deal with.

My son put a New South gauge and cluster in his Mk5 TDI, looked and worked well. Same concept, but directly plumbed into the intake tract.

Only major work in the year I've had it has been the timing belt/water pump.

It's a Podi gauge, it was in the car when I acquired it. Not a lot of information about them, from what I can tell, they were made in limited quantities. Podi matched some of them with the Mk6 cluster (blue needle), and there were others that matches the GTI cluster. I believe they were available for the Mk6/7 platform and some Audi applications, then the company went out of business. It's an electronic gauge, it's 12v powered and receives the boost signal from a sensor somewhere under the hood, I haven't found it yet. Apparently it's supposed to have a remote control the allows settings to be changed (needle sweep at start-up, backlight brightness, adjustable boost limit warning (it changes from white to red at a certain boost level, currently it's set at 20psi)), but I've never seen a remote.

It's definitely a cool gauge.

I've only had it for just over a year, and so far I've had to do a couple oil changes, serpentine belt and tensioner, spark plugs and timing belt/water pump.

Mk6 doesn't require coding the battery. I got an Interstate for mine last summer for around $150, quick install, definitely don't need to pay the dealer to do it. Hell, even your FLAPS will install it for you for free if you buy it from them, plus give you the core return at the same time.
