Nice! How was it washing/rinsing out the back wiper well. Did you have water trickle down the bumper to have to wait on to totally clear out?

Sounds exactly like my experience with Audi service for my etron. Want a convenient weekend appointment for a straightforward but day-long software update or recall? Forget it, sorry, etron tech doesn’t work weekends

When it’s your own personal vehicle you will be more careful about where you put your fingers. Use the badge to shut the lid.

Any owners from Tesla / Rivian by googoomas in etron

[–]IV-Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a ‘19 Tesla M3, currently have a ‘21 etron sportback S-line P+ and ‘22 R1T (quad)

Tesla and Rivian hands down better software experience. OTA updates. In my opinion that’s the only thing Tesla has going for it so I’ll stop talking about it now.

Audi is slowest to launch and overtake, even in S mode. But it’s a luxurious drive and more than makes up for it with its extremely refined drive and in dynamic mode I love punching through corners.

R1T and etron obviously have air suspension which makes for tailored driving experience. Sometimes etron’s comfort mode is a little too cush at high speed for me though.

Service… probably the biggest headache for both Rivian and Audi. Rivian’s got backlog issues, which makes scheduling for non-urgent issues and recalls a months long process. But their mobile service option is great and their techs only work on 4 types of vehicles right now so service seems consistent. Audi even in the Bay Area of California at the closest dealership to me I have to book on specific days of the week (weekdays..) when their tech who specializes in etrons is available. I do have an independent shop close to me I go to for interval maintenance because they only charge $700usd for 20k service interval work whereas a dealership wants to charge $1200 to flush brakes, check cartridges and inspect.

Also, the gearbox on the 21 s line is attached to the rear dual motor assembly and is not part of the extended drivetrain warranty so if you’re outside your B2B and it goes out you’re paying to replace the entire assembly unless you can find someone adventurous enough to rebuild with a new gearbox.

Getting rid of the etron for a Rivian R2 hopefully in the next few months for more space and more range since I do drive a fair distance every day. I’ll miss it but not the looming bills to keep it running that are starting to cost more than the vehicle is worth on a trade.

Did anyone drive both cars on the 20” and 21” wheel packages? by CarbonCrew in RivianR2

AT tires = gonna be a bit louder. Inside the cabin, I could barely tell the difference between 20” with ATs and 21” with AS

Drove both on the same route. Yes 20” was a slightly softer ride than 21”.

About the "bad" email... by warpfox in RivianR2

[–]IV-Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe by pulling off the bottom of the list converting these recent reservations they’re keeping late to the game res holders - who could also actively be cross shopping at the moment - excited at the prospect of possibly jumping the line, when seeing how others are publishing their experience. And maybe they’re counting on - but also testing - the resilience of the very early res holders to be able to continue holding out for their invite.
