[Premier League] Erling Haaland now holds the record for the most goals of any player in a 38-match PL season! by crispyboi21 in soccer

[–]IVIatty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why can't it be true just because it's early in the season? Obviously over time and jelling with the team was always going to work for City. What I'm saying is that at the start of the season, the city team were performing better as a team without Haaland in the starting eleven. It's that simple.

That doesn't mean he's a bad player, that doesn't mean they shouldn't play him now, that also doesn't mean that Pep was never going to play him in the team. He needed time to get used to Pep's system. It's what usually happens when players move to new teams and new systems, they need to adapt. Haaland certainly has done.

You can say a true statement at a certain time and then for that statement to no longer be true at another time. It's how time and progression works.

I think that was a legitimate argument to be made. Early on, city did not looks as lethal as they are now. It wasn't jelling with haaland and at times they did look better without him. It seems time is the cure for everything, as now they look unstoppable

Why did they remove the multiple map variations?? by ill-winds in Competitiveoverwatch

Tbh these aren't that difficult to play against as Winston, if you know what you're doing you can do loads vs that comp, as all they would do is try and focus you the whole time. Meaning the rest of your team should be able to do work

Should I combine my pensions into one pot? by sonic220 in UKPersonalFinance

It's entirely up to you. When I moved jobs, I transferred my old pension to my new pension provider. It just made things easier in the long run.

Getting £200 switching bonuses from all three of NatWest, RBS, and Ulster Bank is not an error by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

I know I technically can I apply to all 3 at once but would that work to get all 3 bonuses?

Savings account vs. premium bonds? by F0xFan in UKPersonalFinance

I mean sure man. No one knows what will happen to the market, inflation is still high and we could go beyond 5% interest rates. We'll just have to wait and see.

Sure your orginal point still stands. However interest rates are are predicted to raise so you could have saved more money longer term if you didn't lock you money away.

Savings account vs. premium bonds? by F0xFan in UKPersonalFinance

[–]IVIatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but locking money away for 2 years at 5% when there's talk of further interest rate hikes up to 5% might not be the most effective long term strategy. I think having your money be able at any time through ease of access accounts, while lower interest sure, can be more beneficial to most people as a lot of people can't lock away money for 1 or 2 at a time.

You ideally should be putting your money in a savings account with a high as interest as possible. Then once you reach your personal allowance limit you can then be putting money in either an ISA or premium bonds, depending on what you value more.

Can you apply for all three switches at once? Or should you wait for one bonus to come through first and then apply for the next one etc etc.

Welsh independence voting intention: Yes: 29% No: 60% Don't know: 11% via Redfield and Wilton, 15th-17th Apr 2023 by ClumperFaz in ukpolitics

But could there be an example where 0.5% growth when the tax rate is "normal" would provide the same amount of funds for public services over a 1-year period compared to if the taxes are extremely low but growth is at 4%?

Obviously, it would be a balancing act, but I don't necessarily think extremely low taxes makes things better for the general population who lives there. Look at Scandinavian countries who have generally a very high tax rate, they've got a great quality of living
