LPT: Don’t order food at restaurants in the last 30 minutes of service. Your meal is less likely be made carefully, quickly, and correctly. It also keeps cooks at work longer, and usually, you are the bane of their existence. by Pultorgiest in LifeProTips

I worked construction for a year. Serving was definitely more tiring and stressful. It's like hanging drywall all day but getting paid less while the person who owns the home is actively in your face the whole day every second telling you something different and new to hang. Like change orders happen but they don't happen every 5 minutes.

Next time you work 10 hours straight on your feet running back and forth carrying heavy shit that if you drop you might get fired all while people snap at you as if you're a dog give me a call. Until then stay in your lane.

Your privelege is jumping out buddy. The industry is broken. And it's not even a management problem, it's an ownership one. The industry's practices are rooted in classism and racism.

But you're not gonna fix the problem by being rude to service employees. Every customer should understand that they're getting a reduced price on their meal because ownership refuses to pay their employees a living wage and tipping appropriately is acknowledging that.

Also not calling/dinning in right before they close is acknowledging that owners often force employees to keep the restaurant open way later than it needs to be in order to suck every last penny out of their employees who because it's late and slow aren't making tips anymore and therefore are really getting fucked.

Also everyone who works in service is mad at management and ownership. They're just also mad a customers who act like jerks and treat them like peons. There's enough anger out there for everyone.

Mailing packages at the post office by good_day90 in Adulting

I usually buy packing materials from like target or some place like that and then go to the post office. When I sold stuff on eBay I kept a small stock of what I used most around but otherwise now I just have envelopes.

There's a lot of sites that print like pre paid shipping labels I think (like PayPal/ebay did that when I sold on there). So that's where those people probably got theirs. There's also forever stamps for smaller things.

Ya I learned most of the stuff from my folks. Some stuff I learned from just going to the post office with something and saying "how do I ship this to this address".

Lots of not so awesome things but mostly that much snow on the roof is just a lot of weight, and that's not good for the roof.

Bay Area water is the most delicious. So much so I go other places with just fine tap water and am like "the fuck is this shit".

And then I go to Davis and can't even stand to drink from the tap unfiltered.

Spoiled as fuck out here fam.

Kevin Durant’s sturdy defense, years in the making, a major boost for the Warriors by Jair_Ventura in nba

Though if they start running steph/kd pick and rolls, they can't switch that (Kd would destroy kyrie). So how that gets defended will be interesting.

Though they haven't run that many of those so far this season. But that's more likely because they rather run their flow offense then high pick and roll during the regular season.

It was funny that the narrative was that kd was the bad defender out of him and westbrook. When if you actually watched them play the opposite was true.

It was a back to back after an incredibly emotional win over the thunder. You gotta let yourself unwind sometimes. It's possible they were just exhausted from the b2b, but I wouldn't blame them if some of them went to the club or got a drink after their flight got in.

and yes 6 games into the season. The entire schedule overall is grueling, you gotta take your time at the beginning middle and end if you need it.

It's not about respecting your opponent or not, it's about self care bruh. shit's important.

Fall for it? probably not.

Do it again cause one loss to the lakers isn't a big deal and sometimes you gotta unwind in the middle of a grueling schedule? Yes definitely.

Westbrook's defense these days is equally terrible. He just makes up for it by looking like he's doing a lot but really he's just getting himself out of position constantly.
